Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have the intrest in the CSE field and my elder brother was a software Engineer. The demand of the Computer science is very high. Nowadays software company are provided real world applications like web development and other projects. The course period is very long and it should be short and more NITs are added. 4.O skills must be added. The semester is done in 4 months which is not sufficient for the syllabus and to perfect in the field.

Internships Opportunities

4

Web_Bocket, Oasis Infobyte,Codsoft online company. CTTC,OCCAC,IIG VARSITY offline company. I do internships web development for paid . I work in many projects like hardware and software. like clone of many of websites like Myntra, Usability hub.

Placement Experience

4

In 6th semester, Placement opportunities are available and the criteria is more than 7.0 CGPA,No backlog. Based on the company criteria Many companies like TCS,Tech Mahindra, Wipro,Q-spider, Flipkart, Infosys, Aditya Birla group and 50+ others companies,No offers more than 330+ 75% of students are placed. Highest package is 18 lacs and Average package is 3lakhs based on the companies. More than 75% were getting placements. My plan is to getting placed in company approx package 6lacs per annum with job security

Fees and Financial Aid

I yearly paid 102000 (B.tech (CSE)) .It is the course fees of one year Tuition Fees is including in the course fees Caution fees is 2000 ,It is refundable. Course registration fees is 2500 like Nptel. Admission fee is 12000. We have no development fees. During the course completion as per ST/SC category is 20% less than the General and OBC category

Campus Life

4

Festivals like Ganesh puja, Sarswati puja, Diwali, Durga puja, Christmas and many more. The library is complete and i think it has all segments of books. All classroom has more than 3 AC and projector with smart board. Annual sports is held in every year and extra curricular activities like Hobby club, Gaming hub ,Gym , other social activities. Instagram pages and linkedin page, YouTube and whatsapp chhanel

Hostel Facilities

4

Room has 4 locker and four beds. 3 study table. Wifi connection. One balcony. Attached toilet. 4 Showcase. A very wide space . Food serves three times a day Meal quality is average and too much oily menu is changed in every day and repeat weekly. First we have to pay 100% hostel fees for registration of hostel and i think it is affordable. Gangapada hostels The area is fill with rented room and affordable for students

Admission

I applied in SOA and Trident Academy because of the high course fee ,i didn't do the addmission. Gift is Autonomous college and my elder brother preferred me this college and the fee is affordable. No I don't scored good in JEE so I clearly admitted in GIFT. Students must be attended JEE,OJEE exam or others engineering exams and there is no certaint cutoff for the course. Addmission experience was very good

Faculty

3

In our CSE department 37-40 faculties are present lab assistants are not included. In CSE department students are 510 so the ratio is too less . The relationship is good and every faculty do his best to resolve our doubts. I liked Allupati sir because of his dedication, punctuation, disciplined and regular classes. Pritiprava mam ,she is very kind and she had the best problem solving skills. Smruti sir ,he was the legend of our department and he teaches us every subject which we want . They are my favourite teachers. I don't like Pallav sir ,I don't judge because he was on top but I didn't like the method of teaching In one semester we have 4 modular test as per module. Modular tests are easy to pass but semester is difficult. 30% students have one or more subjects back

Other Applied Colleges

Siksha 'O' Anusandhan University - [SOA] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

For high course fee, We can't afford the course fee

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum was very classical , too much theory oriented for placement point of view they will provide last 1 month or 2 months training for aptitude part rest for technical you have to study on your own.

Reviewed on Jan 9, 2026(Enrolled 2023)

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Relevance & Comprehensiveness (Rating: 7/10) The course curriculum at SOA is updated frequently compared to state government colleges. Why I chose this: I was attracted to the fact that the syllabus includes modern electives like Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics starting from the 3rd year itself, rather than waiting for the final semester. Real-world Prep: The curriculum is designed largely to crack placement interviews. There is a heavy focus on Aptitude and Core Coding subjects (DS/Algo) which helps in getting a job. However, for deep research or R&D roles, the theoretical depth is sometimes lacking. 2. Areas for Improvement Teaching Methods: A major issue is the reliance on PowerPoint Presentations (PPTs). Many faculty members just read off the slides. I would prefer more "Whiteboard Teaching" for mathematical and logic-based subjects. Lab Records: We spend hours handwriting practical records/files which are just copied from the manual. This is a waste of time. This time should be used for live coding projects or hackathons. Outdated Subjects: First-year students (even in CS/IT) are forced to learn heavy mechanical/civil concepts. While basics are good, the depth of these non-core subjects should be reduced. 3. Exam System & Difficulty Frequency: It is quite hectic. We have 2 semesters a year. Each semester has 2 Internal Assessments (Quizzes/Mid-sems) and 1 End-Semester Exam. Basically, you have an exam every 1.5 to 2 months. Difficulty: The exams are Easy to Moderate. It is not very difficult to pass. If you study the "Class Notes" and "Previous Year Questions" for 3-4 days before the exam, you can easily score an 8.0 SGPA. The checking is lenient for passing, but strict if you are aiming for a 9.5+ SGPA.

I actually have a very little idea about placements of our uni few seniors says there is not a single company visiting, while few were discussing the highest placement which was something like 20lpa or something,i think companies do visit our campus it may not be much but i have definetly seen one or two companies visiting. I plan to do MBA after my Btech so i am not that serious about whether i am getting placed or not.
