My college review

Management can be better if they avoid politics in university better & highly qualified faculty should be arranged for senior years.

When I gave the entrance exam university ran its own engineering entrance exam score was not shared but rank was something around 45-46 now the selection is through AIEEE I opted for this college as it was near my home city gurukul university is a deemed university & its MCA program is quite good so though that newly started engineering program will also be good my brother was also studying in the same campus so we could stay together.

For B.Tech CS&E the course for initial 2 years was same as any engineering course all streams had same subjects from 3rd year the subjects were different for computers subjects covered were - C, Data Structures, C++, Java, OS, Linux, Networking, etc etc end of 6th Semester we do a short project of 1 month in some company industry for which we need to create a project report In 7-8 semester we do a project by our self for which we are given score in 8th Sem.

No company came for internship students had to search companies by their own and mostly none of them paid stipend students used to do trainings in BHEL or ONGC etc. Some with some reference did training in some software companies in Noida.

In 2005 not much companies came only HCL & NewGen 1 or 2 call centers came but none of the student went for the offer HCL picked only 1 student while newgen did none. The placemet & that time was real tough tast but seems like now in 2015 it should be better but I don't expect bigger brands coming to Gurukul apart fro Infosys, Wipro, TCS etc

Events are mostly at university level which are quite big & at international level but those are not very technical mostly related to yoga ayurveda sahitya sanskrit etc In engineering college not many events celebrations were mostly students initiated like welcome parties for new students & farewell for seniors minimal support from college.

In 2005 times the free seat was 33000 & paid sear was over 100000 so being admitted on paid seat was quite expensive there is something known as staff ward which is quota for university staff the fees for them is minimal.

Don't know much in this regards as I did not know any student in my batch who had got scholarship there might be something for student under reservation.

Extracurricular activities mostly depend on students from engineering college perspective not much was there but from university side some things were there mostly related to sports some activites related to Yoga & exercises etc as already mentioned some were related to Hindi sanskrit etc .

University hostel is available for engineering students very basic hostel with basic food facility in 2005 times the charges were very nominal for food & stay but I don't know much as I never stayed in Hostel .

Not supported by college on personal terms students contact seniors for job search help etc but generally the terms between seniors & juinors are good in the college & university ragging is prohibited in college atleast during my time our seniors supported us a lot & meanwhile we supported our juniors.

Exam is conducted by Gurukul univeristy itself within the university exam hall mostly exam papers are set by professors in gurukul but some papers are set by visitor faculty from IIT Roorkee etc.
