I have a love for the subject of English so I chose it. The faculty of English has 4 professors and a total of 230 students (Approx including 3 semesters). All professors are highly educated. They take exams every week(class tests). Semester exams are taken every semester for 6 months.

Class Size: 10000Course Fees: INR 5400 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are now highly increased. After the lockdown, the fees had to be cut down but they got increased too much. We get Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship offered by Our honourable chief minister Smt. Mamata Banerjee.

Campus Life

Our college is an old college so we have many classrooms and a big playground. Annual fest (SANKALP) occurs in every year. our college has a big library with a huge collection of books. Annual sport is a part of the college. The student union is there in our college.

Admission

It helps in central Govt exams and for future teaching. The admission form of the college is available at the website www.burdwanrajcollge.ac.in Application fees change in every year. And application period is in the month of July-august. Reservation is not available for every course some courses offered it. The admission process is now far better than the previous time cause in previous periods we have to collect the form by going to the college. But now it's all done in online mode.

I want to know bengali literature and all type of poems and proses that's why I choose B.a. in bengali literature. According to me, my course helps me in doing Masters in Bengali. From the point of view of improvements, I feel that digital classes can be conducted in the class by leaving the theory classes. We were held a class for upto 1hrs, thus we had 4 class a day. Sometimes it is boaring sometimes it becomes striking, it depends on the mood. It is to say little knowledge is a dangerous thing, if you don't read you cannot pass the semester examination. Although it will provide you a second chance. But with change of syllabus the exam pattern also change. You need to attain a total percentage of 75(%) to maintain you honours subject otherwise you would be regarded as programme course student.

Presidency University: A hope of light but needs a lot of upgradation

Course Curriculum Overview:

The Department of Bengali is one of the oldest Bengali department in the state. It offers undergraduate honours and postgraduate courses. Recently, they have started PhD courses as well. The Bengali department is actively engaged in research in hot topics in literature. The curriculam of Presidency university is most diverse among all other University, colleges in the state. It begins with very basic topics at the first year and ends with very specific research level papers at the final year. The syllabus is so advance that bachelors students can compare themselves with the masters level students after completeing the course. I will mention the bachelor course curriculam in summary: Semester I- Prachin Bangla Sahitya O Bangalir Itihas sandhan, Bangla bhasar itihas o bhasatotto, Semester II- Prak chaitanya juger bangla sahityer itihas, Madhyajuger bangla sahityer itihas o kabyapath, Semester III- Shorosh o soptodosh shotabdir samaj: itihas o chaitanyadeb, Ashtadosh shatabdir samaj sangkriti, changa-alanlkar o prof sangsodhan, Semester IV- Adhunik juger udbhab, gadya o probondho sahitya, kabya-kabitae itihas, natoker itihas o rupbhed, Semester V- Bangla Upanyas, Bangla chotogolpo, Rabindranath, Semester VI- Unish o Bish shataker bangla samaj songskriti o sahitya, bhinna bhasar sahityer itihas o tar obhighat, bharatiya alangkar shatra, sahitya o shilpo. Other than these compulsory courses, there are lot of exceptional elective courses that attracted me more towards joining this prestigious university. Since Presidency University select specific students through their difficult entrance tests, the semester exams should not be difficult for the students, but there are some papers in the course which needs to delt with extra care and attention to get extra marks.

I wouldn't eliminate content without background we cannot form good, rational and educated conclusions. We still giving timed tests.

The Honest statements about Burdwan Raj College.

1. I also applied for Bishnupur Ramananda college and I also got a seat there but i choose this college because of it's NAAC grading which is B++ ,but the system and universities pressure are on another level than that college. 2. I also applied to some well known colleges but i couldn't make it cause I had science stream in +2, which is a lot disadvantage and also I don't had very good marks in my +2. 3. The admission process is totally Merit base , like they will qualify you by checking your marksheet of +2 and they'll give you merit score and by that you can get an admission but the registration method is so much time holding which i discussed before....Read More
