Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is diverse. It has courses that can teach and test one's analytical rigour and has courses on social sciences to make an individual more sensitive to the issues around the world. More than the classroom, it is the culture of peer learning which has taught me skills essential to surviving in this market. There is a culture of seniors engaging freely with the juniors and encouraging and guiding the juniors to succeed. There are 65-70 students in a classroom which makes it easier to give individual attention to the students.
Placement Experience
In the BBA phase, there aren't any internships or placements offered. However, enough time is given in summer for the students to do a 2-month full-time internship. In addition to this, there is a compulsory rural immersion program where the students are placed in NGOs to work for a period of 2 months at the end of the second year. However, in MBA, the college provides internships and placements. The average placements have jumped by more than 30 percent this year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tuition fee remains constant for the first 3 years whereas the MBA fees will depend on the inflation rate in the country. There are scholarships like NBFA for students from the lower strata of the society.
Campus Life
Being a baby IIM, the opportunity it offers to the students to create an impact is immense. The clubs and committees in the college don't discriminate between the seniors and the juniors. It overall provides a very good environment to learn, and create an impact and also can act as a good CV pointer. The new campus has all the amenities required in a world-class classroom. The clubs are entirely student-run, while the committees have mentors and chairpersons who guide the students.
Hostel Facilities
IPM is a compulsory residential program. The hostel has all the basic amenities. The food quality is good and the Hostel and Mess committee makes changes to the menu every week. Students aren't allowed to rent a room or PG outside the campus.
Admission
The difficulty level for the JIPMAT examination was equivalent to the 10th-grade level. The purpose of this type of admission procedure was to assess the applicant's IQ, accept them, train them to think managerially, and be prepared for the ever-changing market.
