Course Curriculum Overview

It's awesome, you also get an IIT degree, which is so valuable in the job market. It's super awesome....because all delivered in online...also the interaction is so good Teachers are mostly PDH people, also those people are the same who teach in offline mode as well. Term exams are conducted 3 times in a term, Quiz 1, Quiz 2 & End term. To pass, one should be regular with courses.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Internships Opportunities

All the details are provided on the website and the handbook of IIT Madras, which you can find at study.iitm.ac.in There will be some documents to download...or maybe a student can find them in his/her dashboard in the portal

Placement Experience

Most probably 3rd-year students are eligible for On CAPMUS placements. A lot of companies come, all listed on the website. In 2022, a student got a 44 Lpa offer from Off Campus placement. My plan is to grab a very good placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike is not there. Almost it takes 4 lakhs to complete a BS degree. I'm not much aware of scholarships, but they provide some financial assistance for category students. Rather think there should be a reservation or maybe a fee waiver for General Category MALE students also.

Campus Life

The paradox is the main event. Also, Paradox at Margazhi is conducted. 1st one is conducted in the month of May, 2nd the one is usually conducted at December end and January Starting. E-books are available.. and it's more than sufficient. Just love it. A lot of Social groups, clubs, societies, and websites are... it's countless....a lot many

Admission

Any age group can apply through the website- https://study.iitm.ac.in. All details are on the website. the admission process is already awesome. No improvement is needed. I think we should get some other opportunities like E-Cell also to encourage the Entrepreneurship mindset and to fund good project ideas.

Infrastructure is good staff are good teaching. It is quite easy to attach with the teacher. Staff suggest teaching with the slide and PPT they are not same as like in school which is they will like do was spoon feeding.

Good Learning Environment But need more Facilities

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose bsc computer science because I'm interested in IT jobs and want become a developer. The syllabus is useful for real world learning and it covers important basics. i found subjects like c programming very helpful for understanding core concepts. the curriculum is decent but it needs more practical sessions and better lab facilities. the software and systems in the lab should also be updated. we follow a semester system, and the exams test both theory and practical knowledge. overall the course is good, but more hands on training would make it even better.

Is IITM BS degree in Data Science worth

Students have to give an entrance exam conducted by IITM itself, the fee for which is 3000 INR(1,500 INR for SC/ST) but JEE students who have qualified for JEE Advanced don't need to give the exam but have to register for the program by paying the same fee. Students from any background can avail for this Degree if they have English and Maths as the main subject in 10th class, there is no age barrier as well. After the registration you will be enrolled in program and they will provide you 4 weeks of content, the exam will come from these content only. There is no cutoff for this exam but you have to score minimum 40% in qualifier exam to continue program(35% for OBC/EWS and 30% for SC/ST). The registraion opens three times a year i.e.November,June and August the time may vary a little bit....Read More
