Course Curriculum Overview
The course offered is General MBA. There are three terms each year, In the first year there are 6,5,6 Subjects in Term 1,2,3 respectively. Some of the subjects taught are Financial Accounting, Economics, Quantitative Management, Marketing Management, Corporate Finance, Understanding Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Market Research, and Managing Organization. Study groups are formed by the administration. Toward the end of the first year, students are allowed to choose a mix of subjects from various domains through a bidding process for the second year. Student to faculty ratio is 1: 60 on average in the second year. Few subjects have mid-term exams and quizzes. The final project, final presentation, and end-term exams are conducted for all subjects. Also, there are in-class submissions and simulation games. Feedback from faculties is collected twice. There are 20 sessions of 1.5 hours for each course.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is offered in roles such as Sales, marketing, digital marketing, D2C Marketing, Product Management, Content Writing, Digital Marketing, Consultancy, operations, data analytics, and finance domain. The companies for summer internships mainly are consultancy companies, digital marketing companies, IT companies, Startups, etc.
Placement Experience
In the first year, students are given numerous live project opportunities which can be paid or mostly unpaid. The summer internship selection process starts in September. 100% placement is attained for Summer internships. The process ended last year by January. The summer internship is for two months from April to June. PPOs are obtained by some students during summer internships. The Final Placement process begins by September or Term 5. The process is completed by December. 100% placement has been achieved this year. The companies that come are Cognizant, Accenture, ADP, BNY, Yes Bank, ICICI, HDC, Mahindra, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for the entire course is 1300000 INR. Each term the average fee collected is 2,24,500, Tuition fee for each term is 170000 INR. Hostel fees is 35000 INR. Other Miscellaneous fees are collected in term 1 and term 4. Various scholarships are provided, the students such as IIM Nagpur Merit Scholarship, Need-cum-Merit based scholarship, Merit cum means scholarship, Chief Minister Fellow Yojna, etc. Stipend based summer Internship is given to all the students in the first year. I obtained a Summer internship in Marketing Domain at a D2C Company. Besides paid and unpaid live projects are provided to students throughout the course.
Campus Life
Classes in the first year started at 8:45 am and went on till 1:45 pm. Each class had a duration of 1.5 hours. Books and case books are provided by the college. Also a lot of resources online and offline are available in the library. The college has twenty student-run clubs and committees. There is a sports complex and the campus has two lawns. There are four hostels. The placement committee is run by students. The annual cultural fest is called Zero Mile Fest. Besides there are events like Tangerine Trails, HR Conclave, and Sporting events. Various festivals like Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Pongal, X-mas, and events like New Year Events, and Fresher's parties are organized on campus. Café, Photocopy, Night canteen, Hairdresser, and Retail shops services are available.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is mandatory as it is a residential program. There are three hostels for PGP students. One hostel is for executive students. Each student is allotted a single occupancy room. There is no registration process for hostel availing. Meals are available at the mess. Meals include breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. However, mess services are not mandatory and students can opt for them based on their wishes. The campus is located on the outskirts of the city of Nagpur and renting a room is not possible. Also, it is not allowed to rent a room outside.
Admission
During CAT Form filling, I selected IIM Nagpur as one of the colleges. After the CAT results got declared, I got a mail from IIM N to submit an application based on the criteria for cut-offs. The application form is available on the college website. The date for submission was April 15. College asked for two references. No application was charged. After filling out the application, I received a mail for the PI process which was scheduled on May 8. There was no GD process. A comprehensive score was calculated. The final selection was carried out based on the Final Score which comprised of the CAT score, Comprehensive Score, and other criteria such as Work Experience, Diversity Score, UG Marks, and Boards Marks.
Interview Experience
There were no GD Processes for selection in IIM Nagpur. Based on the application submitted, I received a call for PI. During the interview, there were two panelists. Questions were asked based on the work experience, the methodology followed at the workplace, questions on technology, pros, and cons of the technology, about my company, and basic questions like repo rate, GDP, SLR, and CRR. A guestimate question was asked. Also, questions were asked about current affairs such as ongoing elections, business news, and general knowledge questions. When I told about my hobby, the panelist asked questions about my hobbies. Lastly, they asked why MBA.
