Course Curriculum Overview
MBA at IIM Bodh Gaya comes under the PGPM ( Post Graduation Programme of Management ). The course is designed in a very comprehensive manner. The entire course is divided into 6 trimesters, three each year. In the first year, the students are taught the subjects of each domain (Marketing, IT/ Analytics, Finance, Operations, Strategy & Consulting), and in the second year, students have to opt for their majors and minors. Students have to complete a particular number of course credits to be eligible to receive a degree. The student-faculty ratio here at IIM Bodh Gaya is 10:1. The pedagogy involves in-house Harvard Case discussions. Approximately 80% of the faculties are PhD two sets of major exams are conducted in each term, i.e. mid terms and end-term. To answer the questions asked in the exam, a deep understanding of the concepts and their applications is required.
Internships Opportunities
The college's Career Development Cell assists with internship placements. All of the students received job offers from various organisations, including ones in marketing, IT, analytics, HR and business development. The assignments aided students in understanding how organisations operate and were designed as industry training tools.
Placement Experience
First-year MBA students are given the chance to participate in a summer internship placement process. The internship is a part of a curriculum and students perform internships at the end of the first year. The selection process for internships begins in the second trimester and by the mid of the third trimester, the entire batch gets placed. However, the entire placement process is facilitated by the student-run placement committee called Career Development Cell. Since the inception of the college, it has always recorded 100% placements. And continuing the legacy IIM Bodh Gaya has recent;y concluded its 100% final placement for the MBA batch of 2021-2023. The highest CTC stands at 48.58 lakhs, with a significant Y-OY increase of 34% in the median and 22% in average packages. Over 200 students and almost 70 organisations participated in the IIM Bodh Gaya's final placement this year, with the BFSI, manufacturing, FMCG, IT and analytics, e-commerce and consulting sectors contributing to the highest recruiters.
Fees and Financial Aid
The current fee for the MBA programme for two years is 15,50,000. However, the Need-Based Financial Aid (NBFA) Scholarship is offered to students based on their family's annual income. Students get opportunities to perform paid summer internships and even to enhance their technical skills and business acumen; students get ample opportunities to perform paid live projects.
Campus Life
Elegante, the college's annual festival, draws participants from top schools in India. The winners receive financial awards, and everyone who actively participates in the activities learns a lot about management. On the current site, there are classrooms and libraries for students, and more classrooms that will soon be finished construction are currently under development. Sports, including volleyball, table tennis, cricket, basketball, and badminton, are available for students to participate in. Twelve committees and 15 clubs are operated by students at the college with faculty guidance. A few of them are listed below: Career Development Cell ( Placement Committee ), International Relations Committee, Media & Public Relations Cell, Cultural Committee etc. and numerous clubs for the finance, hr, marketing, etc . domains, respectively.
Hostel Facilities
New hostel buildings are being constructed. Currently, there are 5 different hostels where students can stay. Four hostels are available for boys and one for girls. The dorms at the hostels are single occupancy and double occupancy. Food is served in the mess area on the ground floor of the hostels, which also includes a terrace. There are amenities, including geysers, daily restroom cleaning, a water cooler and purifier, a washing machine, electricity backup, and security. The MBA programme at IIM Bodh Gaya is a complete residential programme. Students are supposed to pay for mess food only because the hostel fees are included in the total fees.
Admission
The admission process involves registering for the CAT exam, which is conducted by the IIMs in the last week of November each year. Students who have completed their graduation or are currently in the final year of their graduation can appear for the CAT exam. There are 20 IIMs, and each IIM has its own eligibility criteria and cut-offs for CAT. Candidates who clear the CAT cut-offs and composite score and meet other eligibility criteria of a particular IIM are then further called for the WAT-GD-PI round ( Writing Ability Test- Group Discussion- Personal Interview). The final choices are determined by a set of criteria that may vary for each IIM. The composite CAT score, prior academic success, employment experience, and performance in WAT/GD and PI all factor towards the marking scheme. Final decisions are made in accordance with these final scores.
Interview Experience
After fulfilling the eligibility criteria of the college in the CAT exam, students get opportunities to appear for GD-PI around. IIM Bodh Gaya did not conduct GD under the CAP and SAP process. CAP is conducted by any one of those 9 IIMs (IIM Trichy, IIM Udaipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Kashipur, IIM Jammu, IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Srimaur and IIM Sambalpur). The preparation for this round involves awareness about general topics and current affairs.
