The admission occurs on the basis of AIR rank in jee mains. The minimum aggregate in 12th class is 75%.The candidate should have Physics,chemistry,mathematics(PCM) as their major. There is reservation for General(EWS),SC and ST.But,Only OBC from jharkhand are eligible for OBC reservation.OBC from other states is considered general. The counseling process is done by josAA and CSAB. Admission for branches like Production and industrial engineering, civil, a chemical also occurs through lateral entry which is conducted by the college itself. The information for the same is released by the college just after jossa and csab counseling is over. During document verification,the crowd management could be made better.

I had an interest in computers since my childhood, also the packages in this department are better so I opted for computer science engineering. The faculty: student ratio is 1:40. All the professors are highly qualified. They have P.hd in their respective courses from reputed universities. They make use of presentations to teach and sometimes even use chalk. Some professors have other ways like student interaction and tallying real-life problems. The exams here are very frequent, and by the end, students get well acquainted with exams, and fear of exams vanishes.2 quizzes,1 before mid sem and 1 after it is taken. At the end of every semester, an end semester is conducted.

Fees hike as such has not happened yet. The four-year BTech course without any scholarship costs about 16.5 lakhs. However, may scholarships like the G.P Birla scholarship are given on the basis of merit and merit cum income basis. Another scholarship from the Ramakrishna mission is also given.

There are many annual fests like bitotsav, pantheon where students from other colleges also participate. there are 36 clubs in total. Some are Robolution Rotaract IEEE ACM Dhwani Team Srijan Aerosoc There is a huge central library which includes books for every reader. However, a strange rule is applicable here per which a general candidate can only burrow the book for 15 days but an SC/ST candidate can burrow for 3 months. The classroom is fully digital, Air conditioned, and has PVR seats. The sports complex is very big and the college hosts many inter universities recently east zone football tournament was conducted where teams like Jadavpur university, nit jsr, etc had come. Clubs like Rotaract and LEO are run by students.
