Course Curriculum Overview
I like my course in civil engineering, people don't know but it's an evergreen and growing branch. Faculty to student ratio is about 0.8. The teaching methods of the faculty is superb, they are a very knowledgeable person as all are Ph.D. graduates. Terms exams are frequent like quizzes are monthly and sem exams are in 4 months.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are also offered with a stipend of 50,000 so far I heard, the average is around 20-30k. Projects are also various in numbers run by faculties, which will rate up your CV as well, overall basis, we get interns if we do good-average performance overall.
Placement Experience
From the 5th semester, you can start getting placed. Around 100+ companies visit our campus, such as Amazon, Wipro, etc, and offers are also around 30 lakhs. The highest package was around 44 lakhs, with an average of around 18-21 lakhs. We have a 100% placement in top branches and around. 90% placements overall. Maybe would prefer higher studies as my branch is civil.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is a little high and it's going to be increased in upcoming years but same as other IITs I got an internship in designing which was offered to me by a startup, the connection between the two of us was done through the Career and placement cell of IIT Mandi. Although you have got internship offers in many fields.
Campus Life
A fest like exodia Jannetti ruvaan takes place every 4 months one by one. All types of books are available ever the students may consume, and some novels are also available. Classrooms are full of amenities like projectors, ventilation, Air conditioner, heating unit, etc. Lots of clubs like dance drama music, language, designing, etc.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good, provided with wifi in every 2-3 rooms, and we have study rooms where Ethernet can be used. We have 2-4 sockets for every student, double triple occupancy in 1st and 2nd year and from 3rd year we get a single room. Food quality is average as we are charged. 125 per day, so it's a subjective topic, it varies from person to person. Registration and all is done while you take admission, and you just get an email to visit the OAS portal of the institute to submit fees during the running semester for the successive semester. No PGs' are available, and you have to stay in the campus hostel as per the rules.
