Remarks

College management should focus on quality and taste of food serve and should also increase the time limit one can spend out of the college. As we do have coaching so 7 pm is too early for us. Overall college is good and I feel lucky to have myself in it . I think collegespeak should personally give me a call I really have some good suggestions.

Entrance Preview

I sat for JEE and scored 147 in JEE Mains and got Civil Engineering in NIT Raipur. I opt for this college as it is situated in developing city Raipur hence much opportunities are waiting for civil engineers . College has quiet a good placement record as well as some of the finest company visit . Also for more details collegesspeak.in can contact me personally and I can help them to spread awareness about them as well as become their college ambassador if they want.

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college provide some internships as well but not everyone is lucky to get one. Our college Training and Placement Office is very active and brings some good companies like HPL , L&T ,Coal India , NTPC , Adani , Hindalco , PowerGrid , Bhel as well as some private comapny which I'm not mentioning . Avg stipend is about 5000 Rs but varies a lot . Also some student go for foreign and research related internships as well.

Placement Experience

5

Placement varies from branch to branch but on avg 6 lpa and highest is as high 75 lpa by Epic Systems in 2016 . Approximately 60 % gets placed .

College Events

5

Our college conducts hundreds of events each year but some important ones are : 1 E Summit (about 2000 participants) for startup related events. 2 Aavartan (4000 participants ) techfest with ech events 3 Shruti (1000 participants) singing fest 4 Samar (7000 participants ) sports fest student throughout the country. 5 Eclectika (7000 participants ) cultural fest . Also various celebrities visited this year. Geeta Phogat , Sachin and Jigar , Saraiyya , Mohit Chauhan (2016) Dj Shilpi Sharma .

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is really feasible . For poor students concession as upto 66 % is there while sc and st student admission fees is totally free. General 125,000 for a year and SC and St is 6000 a year. 2/3 concession for lower income groups. Hostel and mess fee for a year is 30,000. which can be paid in two installments .

Fees and Financial Aid

Firstly for loan Yes our college contains a branch of State Bank of India which gives needy student loan as well as some concession by them as well. So no problem for loans . Secondly it being Govt. college fees is comparatively less and free of reserved classes and 2/3 concession for poor people. Scholarships from various PSU are available like NTPC and ONGC also Chattisgarh govt provide scholarship of 4000 Rs per month for needy. Govt also give free laptops. for details one can go for nitrr.ac.in

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio is 3/10 on average . And students from all states are present but the maximum students belong to Chattisgarh and then Uttar Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh students also exist a lot but mostly in metallurgy branch. Campus life is good with a lot positive vibes due to good seniors and beautiful city raipur with all sorts of recreational activities available. But still there exist diversity as student varies with branches as you will find hardly 5 or 6 girls in branches like mining mechanical civil and electrical . While in branches like cse and ece half of them are girls. Presence of south indians are mostly in mining and metallurgy. For extracurricular there are clubs for social activity , drama , nukkad natak , gyming , swimming , politics , law , green club for nature as well as lab here are quiet good with instruments working properly. Lab Incharge are really good as they easily explains us everything . Our city Raipur is some what going to become Metro so all sorts of Mall and eateries are there as well . Well developed transport network and market makes life easy here. Within radius of 3 km we can purchase any thing .

Hostel Facilities

3

Our college lack hostel facility. Only 30 % student can avail them so its availability is based on merit list which is about 8.5/10.0 in average. Mostly rooms are twin sharing but some are triple as well. Condition of rooms is quiet good but mess food taste bad with no non veg available and timings are for very less period. Other student who do not get hostel can stay in private hostel as well as PG's which cost on avg 3000 for rent and 3000 for food and other. Just behind our college area named Kota exist which has many hostels.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes this is important our college really lucky that there is no ragging not even a bit and senior really help a lot and we do have class groups on whats app where senior and junior interact and discuss problems. Alumni network is quiet strong with almost 15 selections every year in GATE and 2-3 students have foreign placements .

Exam Structure

Total of thousand marks are there divided in 6 subjects and 4 labs and 2 other. There are 2 CT's(Class test ) 15 marks for each subject and one End Semester Exam of 70 marks. Also practical is there for 50 marks. And teacher assessment carry 20 -30 marks in each subject. For CT's we don't have to study much one can easily get 10-12 marks just by listening to teacher but problem arises in End Semester where we have to work day and night. 8.5 pointer above is decent score and give you rank of 15/80 students. for more we have manual for exam structure.

Admission

I sat for JEE Mains and scored 147 (quite decent) and then counselling conducted by JOSAA was there which had 6 rounds and then opting for float option is first 5 rounds I got NIT Raipur in 6 th round and then I locked the seat . On 22nd July 2016 I was called for seat locking at NIT Raipur and I came. And thats it. For more details related to josaa and counselling one can visit josaa.nic.in

Faculty

4.5

Faculty here are good leaving some and especially in Civil Engg. department is famous for strict and talented faculty members. Our HOD Dr. Sameer Bajpai is really a legend and his way of teaching us inspires a lot and one can never get bored. But there still exist a problem sometimes faculty send their research scholars for taking lectures and most of them are not upto the mark. They lack communication skills and experience.
