Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

My rank was not that good to get the desired branch in the desired college so I choose college over the branch and choose to study chemical engineering at NIT Warangal. Faculty: Student ratio is 1:18 Most of the professors are quite knowledgeable about the subject and engage with students in a courteous manner, whereas others are not. We have many senior instructors in every branch and many of them are up to speed with the latest technology and talents. All the teaching faculty in the institute hold Ph.D. in their respective field. *Exams in Institute There are a total of 4 examinations conducted in a semester for B.Tech, Minor 1, Mid-semester, Minor 2, and End semester respectively. The distribution of marks goes as for minors 10 marks, mid-semester 30 marks, and end semester is of 50 marks. For getting a pass we should score a total of 35 marks after adding up all exam marks and we should get more than 17.5 marks at the end-semester exam.

Internships Opportunities

4

Many companies visit for internships during the placement season and you can secure your internship. Many companies offer good stipends such as Goldman Sachs offers 1.5 lakh per month, ITC offers 1.5 lakhs per month, Oracle offers 1 lakh per month, Microsoft offers 1 lakh per month, DE Shaws offers 1.5 lakh per month, etc.

Placement Experience

4.5

During your third year, you can sit for a summer internship in the companies which are coming during the placement season. During your final year, you can sit for placements in the companies visiting your campus placement. In the last placement season 2021-2022, 1000+ students get placed in companies. * Major recruiters were Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, De Shaws, Uber, DP World, Reliance, BPCL, ITC, etc. * Even many PSU visits for placement during the placement season. If you are preparing for placement then there are very many chances that you will get placed easily. The highest package for last year was around 65 lakh and for the ongoing year, the highest placement is 88 lakh. For most of the branches have placement percentages above 85%.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college tuition fee per semester is 62500 Indian rupees for general, EWS, and OBC students. There is a complete tuition fee waiver for ST, SC students, and students having a family income of less than 1 lakh per year. Students having Family incomes between 1 lakh and 5 lakh also have a 2/3 tuition fee waiver so they have an effective tuition fee of 20800 Indian rupees per semester. * Students paying tuition fees can get remitted based on their performance in college examinations and this scholarship is called an Institute merit scholarship. * During the 3rd of B.Tech students get the opportunity to secure internships with the companies visiting campus. * During the final year of B.Tech students get the opportunity to get jobs in companies visiting campus.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Placement cell is least active.. Few good companies like Infosys, amazon, TCS etc visited but the average package is of 1-2 LPA and only 25-30% of students whose all exams are cleared can sit in the placement cell. The highest package is of 8LPA. My plan is to move abroad for higher studies.. The students after completion of 6th sem can sit in placement cell

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
