Remarks

In my time (2017), the admission was through the UPSEE exam and the candidate should have 10+2 with PCM to pursue B Tech. Around 10 to 15 thousand ranks in UPSEE were good enough to get admission to the University. Nowadays, admission is taken with JEE main exam. Reservations are given to SC, ST, OBC, and PWD candidates as per UP state government norms. Earlier, to get admission to engineering courses, there were various exams UPSEE, and JEE. But good to see that nowadays all institutes are taking candidates through JEE exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

In my senior secondary, I was quite good at my technical subjects like maths physics chemistry, So I was supposed to go for a professional course like B Tech, hence I chose so. There was three types of faculty at the university, permanent faculty, some guest facility, and faculty provided by the government of India under the TEQIP scheme. The teaching method and qualifications of TEQIP faculty are excellent. Qualification of permanent faculty and HOD of each department are high but the teaching method and passion for teaching are average and about the guest faculty, I would say, they are below average. The student's faculty ratio was quite good i.e. 1:70 but in some departments like Chemical engineering and Instrumentation engineering, it is 1:40 or 1:50 due to fewer admissions in the department. There were two midterm exams for every subject and each exam is for 10 marks. To get good grades each semester, mid-term exams are very important.

Fees and Financial Aid

As the institution is a state government university, there was no fee hike during my all academics and the cost to study was quite affordable in comparison with other institutions for the same course. The scholarship is given by the state government which is a very good amount that makes it more affordable to study. The training and campus placements are almost none at the university.

Campus Life

4.5

The college annual fest is not regular every year but if you do a four-year course, you would get 1 or 2 annual fests in your entire course period. The annual fests are excellent and there are so many things to do in the fest like robotics, sports, volunteering, seminars, and activities like singing, dancing, debate competition, etc. There are separate libraries for each department and a central library too and almost every book is available. The environment of the classes is very friendly and cooperative. Apart from the annual fest, there are many cultural as well as technical club that conducts activities like debates, presentations of special guests, and seminars which are run by the students, and faculties are very supportive of these activities. Rohilkhand technocrats club is a very notable of them.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are many hostels on the campus one for PG students, one for freshers (to avoid ragging), one for 2nd yr, and one for 3rd and 4th-year students and the room condition is quite good, each room has a table chair, a bed, fan, and good lights. Meal quality in 2nd-year students is average but in all other hostels, it is very good. Hostels are very affordable and the registration process is simple. You will get the room there on a first come first get policy. Hostel for 2nd-year students is far from the campus, so usually, some students prefer to live in a rented room for the same year.

Average package at GLA University may range between 5-7 lakhs but one student has managed to get placements of 55 lakhs and that is still the record placement from GLA University campus Mathura. Around 70-75% students are placed every year but I will be preparing for GATE as my ambition are to be atleast post graduate if not a PHD.
