Remarks

The eligibility of the course is 10+2 from any recognized school with around 50 percent of marks in class 12. Then you have to appear for the new process of cuet exam to get an entry here. For the FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES, there is tough competition as compared to the faculty of arts. So if you want to take admission in FSS you need to excel in the CUET exam. The campus life is fabulous. The campus is huge with one of the best temples in INDIA. The quality of education is very good. The only downside is the class infrastructure of the Arts faculty building, Social science faculty is much much better than the arts faculty. But classes of social science 1st year also run in the arts faculty building and the class infrastructure is really bad. There is no placement for UG courses at FSS but There is some good placement for PG students at FSS. The placement cell is now very active compared to past years. Economics, psychology, and statistics do have scope for placement in PG courses.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose this course as I have some interest in Psychology and I am very optimistic about its scope studying this subject at BHU Is a great thing in itself. Faculty to student ratio is good for psychology but not very good for subjects like economics, and history because of the huge strength of these courses. Term examinations are conducted on time and the examination level is moderate but the marking is not really good. The majority of the students get marks between 70-78 percentage. To score above 80 is really tough as the marking is not very accommodating Overall the exposure you get here is commendable and one of the best points for taking admission here.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee here for one year is around 2000 for regular students and 12000 for Paid seat students. One of the plus points here is paid seat quota whose cut-off goes 10-20 marks less than a regular seat. This benefits the GENERAL CATEGORY students very much. There is no difference between paid seat students and regular seat students. There are 15% paid seats both for the faculty of arts and social sciences. Some students who get a regular seat on the main campus sometimes convert into a paid seat for a better subject combination.

Campus Life

5

The library here is one of the biggest libraries in Asia and you can get every premium study material here. The library is a plus point here. There are many clubs in the faculty of social sciences. Sports club, Music club, poetry club, quiz club, economics club, etc. There is a lot of exposure and co-curriculum for the engagement of students and overall development. Programs and events are conducted every week. You won't get bored easily. Exposure wise the faculty of social science is doing really a great job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers all essential topics required for higher studies. The curriculum is detailed and helps build strong subject basics. Teaching methods are traditional, so adding more interactive sessions and skill-based learning would be a great improvement. Exams take place every semester along with internal class tests, which helps in continuous evaluation without extra stress

Placement Experience:

Placements in our College are decent. Students become eligible from the 5th/6th semester, and companies from media, PR, and digital marketing fields visit for recruitment. The placement cell also provides training, internships, and guidance. After graduation, I plan to explore both campus and off-campus opportunities in media and communication fields.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I'm from humanities background so the course is quite relevant for me. The course is quite outdated however it's the same for most of the universities. the curriculum should be aligned with the competitive exams and the teaching methods should be more inclusive about the competitive exams so that the student can prepare well not only for the present course but also further upcoming exams.
