Remarks
There was a UET. At that time the university used to conduct its own entrance examination. I applied for the test and appeared in the test. The questions were good. The cut-off for the general category in the main campus was around 250 out of 480 marks. Reservation was helpful for me. The fees of the college were about 2000 but for me, according to the ST quota, my fee was only 300. Yes, improvement is needed in the admission process as the process is very long and time taking. Rest everything is better.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in a social science subject, that's why I opted for this course. The faculty here is enough for the students. About 70-80 students are there in one classroom. The teachers here are very highly trained and senior professors are also there who take our classes. Examinations are conducted semester-wise. for 6 months for each semester is there. The questions were neither too easy nor too hard. If the student is attentive in the classroom then he will surely score good marks.
Internships Opportunities
Internship programs are there. But generally, students of social sciences are not aware of it. Several internships did not provide a stipend, but several provided up to 10,000. So here internship program is not up to the mark.
Placement Experience
Form 5th semester students are eligible for the placement, but it is not very much sure. The students of the foreign language department usually get placement. Recently a BA German student got placed this year only and the package was about 20 LPA. My plan after graduation is to do post-graduation form BHU and prepare for UGC NET Examination.
Fees and Financial Aid
BHU provides scholarships for students who are eligible. There is a program on the campus 'earn while learn. Here students can do part-time jobs and also they can study alone. Placement for social science students is not very much.
Campus Life
There are many fests conducted on campus. Recently in October the fest 'Elixer' was conducted in which the singer Gajendra Verma and the stand-up comedian Akash Gupta came over. BHU has one of the biggest libraries, the Central Library and the cyber library. It is very helpful for the students and the facilities are also very good. BHU also organises sports events and activities like NCC and NSS. There are many social groups and websites run by students. Clubs like Moushquee for music, rehtorica for debates and poetry groups are also there. Websites like examopedia are run by a student, in which solutions of PYQs are there and class notes are available which are very helpful for the examination purpose.
