IIT JEE - AIR 2809 I always want to study in an IIT - Core discipline. Hence, of all available options IIT Guwahati suited me the best.

The course curriculum is well organized. It also depended on the faculty to tweak things a bit. Electives both technical and non-technical are present to give a broader outlook.

In Second year, I did an internship in a company with no stipend. However the experience was unmatched. In Third year, I went abroad for Research internship, awesome it was.

In 2009, due to recession comparatively less companies came to placements, however in general no issues are faced in getting placed.

Technical festival is Techniche and is organized once a year. Cultural festival is Alcheringa. Both festivals are organized at a larger scale with active participation from all over India.

During my tenure, the fees was within reach. It came to approx. 17k a semester with additional 6k for food and lodging which is quite less compared to the facilities.

Scholarship was available for the top student of each discipline. The fees is waived off. In additional under privileged students get fees waived off.

One of the best days of my life. Facilities are above par from expectations. Different societies exist and events happen at regular intervals. College elections are held for G Sec each year.

Hostel accommodation was excellent with single rooms for all students , a rare privilege in any campus.The mess food at par, not always though.

The Alumni network though small, its growing rapidly. Lot of students are at various senior posts in some of the important companies in India and abroad.

There are two main exams - Mid term and End Term.In between quizzes are held at regular intervals. The structure is well organized.

Faculty at IITG was a genuine mix of experienced and young professors. All expert in their field of expertise, with some professors having relevant practical experience as well.
