Remarks

I think out of all josaa JAC etc the admission process for DTU is most simplified for Delhi students especially. When the JAC / JOSAA registration starts thereafter we have to fill in the choices that we want to choose and in consequent rounds, we are allotted the seats. Speaking for DTU you can get an entry at say 50k into the college in a decent stream but for the top branches like COE IT SE and MC ECE you would require a rank of less than 20k for sure. The admission process is super easy and simple for even the not so tech savvy people to follow. As it's a government college we can avail the reservation benefits that's needless to say. I would say the process is very efficient and no improvement is required

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I took admission in Electronics and Communication engineering primarily cause my rank could only fetch me this seat at Max. xD But on a serious note I think if there has to be the most versatile branch in any college that has to be the ECE branch. See our options- Get a job in the core industry with placement from 9lpa to 30lpa Prepare for the gate and get to a PSU Prepare for IES and become a gazetted officer. Get hired in Tech Roles comfortably. 5. Non-Tech companies like BCG, and Bain happily accept ece grads. And believe me, this is just the start. The ece guys have so many opportunities in front of them that they are confused not for no options available popular to today's student's dilemma but so many options available. I have seniors and friends in all the domains I mentioned and everyone is doing super fine. And if this ECE is done from a reputed institute like DTU then the whole situation is very rosy. Student to faculty ratio was nearly 8:1 which is indeed a very good number. Best faculty

Internships Opportunities

4

I can very well say that Internships are by far one of the best at DTU. The highest stipend is paid by Sprinklr at 2 lakhs per month for the side role, for core Google Microsoft also pays nearly 75k to 1 lakh pm. Texas Instruments and Qualcomm are the major recruiters for interns paying very handsomely at 45-50k which is more than the average salary for most engineering grads. Many other companies visit too and if you are serious about the preparation you would surely bag a placement. Many students get to intern at SDE roles along with CS grads and get paid heavily. If interested in the research we can go for an in-house research intern under the professors of our choice or can also go to a Foreign institute for research interns. Both are very rosy scenarios where you get to develop your core skills and contribute to nation-building.

Placement Experience

5

From the end of 6th, sem students become eligible to sit for campus placements. All major companies visit our campus from July-August till the very next year but major big companies come till December and then from Jan.For ECE core we have Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, NXP Semiconductor, Synopsys, Google Hardware, Microsoft Hardware, Ciena, STM microelectronics, Western Digital, Jio, Airtel Samsung, among others. The best package is offered by the Core companies starting from 8lpa to 64 LPA. On average, a core student can easily get a 17lpa provided he studied regularly and did the core subjects well. They offer a variety of profiles from analog, digital, mixed circuit, RND, applications eng. etc. Nearly all students get placed either in the core, Tech, or nontech companies as we are the only branch reliable for most (nearly 95% ) of the companies. Many students also prefer to go for higher ed. in the states or other they too get a preference for being from a tier 1 college like DTU

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee hike is pretty standard which is in sync with the inflation rate. In the first year itself, the fees get fixed for 4 years, and then no hike takes place, unlike private colleges that monopolize random and irrelevant fee hikes. There are numerous scholarships which are from the government side as well as our alumni also fund the scholarships. If you are excellent in academics or sports and have humble financial backing then you would be eligible for the same. Not only this if you are from EWS then too you have a significantly lower fee as compared to the other students. One scholarship I would like to give special mention to is the Meritorious Student Scholarship worth 10k given to the department topper every semester so if you get the highest GPA in your respective departments then you are entitled to the same scholarship. Sorry from this the college doesn't demand any further fee, unlike private colleges which extract a huge amount in the name of internship training and placement assistance.

Campus Life

5

The biggest and the best Literature and Film Festival Yuvaan takes place in the third week of Jan every year. We have a Sports fest Aahvaan and also an inter-college sports festival. Tech fests Invictus, you name it and we have it. It's not hyperbole to say we have something or the other happening every single day!! Entrepreneurship summit, Econclave, Coding competitions, Sahitya competitions, etc. Every other day we can find something or the other taking place and that too with much cult and enthu which provide the student with the most holistic development and also give a chance to relax from the tiring acids and the pressure that engineering comes with. We have plenty of societies for coding we have IEEE, Dcoder, Google society, etc. For core societies like Defianz racing, SMV, etc probably the word limit will surpass if I begin writing the society's names. Nontech society higher education societies UPSC society and all. We have all just come and explore

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements from 6th semester onwards. The average package is around 20 LPA and the highest package is 85 LPA. The placements percentage for top branches is around 80% and many big companies like Amazon, Uber, Google, Microsoft, etc. offer placements. After my degree I plan on securing a placement on the tech field.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course curriculum as **fairly comprehensive and reasonably relevant**, especially in terms of building a strong foundation in core engineering concepts. One of the factors that influenced my decision to choose this course was the **structured curriculum covering important fundamentals such as programming, data structures, mathematics, and core engineering subjects**, which are essential for both technical roles and higher studies. The curriculum provides a solid theoretical base and helps develop analytical thinking, but for real-world applications students often need to complement it with **projects, internships, coding practice, and self-learning**, since some topics are still taught in a more traditional or theoretical way. In terms of improvements, the curriculum could benefit from **more industry-oriented electives, practical assignments, updated lab work, and interactive teaching methods such as case studies or project-based learning**. The exam system typically includes **two major exams per semester — a mid-semester exam and an end-semester exam — along with internal assessments, quizzes, and assignments**. The exams are generally **moderate in difficulty**, and students who attend classes and prepare consistently are able to perform well, though the evaluation tends to focus more on conceptual understanding and written exams rather than purely practical skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really liked physics and applications of physics so chose mechanical engineering, as ut has a lot of application of physics directly can really see how things work not just ideally but actually Curriculum is really good besides getting assignments which noone takes seriously everyone just copies , there must be much more practical stuff so that everyone learns but we do get that in tech teams but not directly as a student in college. There must be practical teachings and proper guidance proper high level machineary must be there, industry visits must be there and internships in such companies must be encouraged There are 5 exams of 1.5 hour considered as mid sems and 6 exams of 3 hours considered as endsems

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course Curriculum for ECE in my clg is quite up to date and comprehensive, covering both core subjects and emerging areas of technology, which was a major factor in my decision to choose this branch. Course has a balanced theory with practical exposure, supported by great faculties guidance and well-maintained lab conditions. Also you get to choose the type of minor or specilaization you want to pursue after 1st year. Exams are conducted regularly after each semester, and levels are same as any engineering college would have.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The frequency of the exams is 2 times a year once in the month of December and once in the month of May. Internal exams (tests) are conducted in between to continuously evaluate you during the course. According to me, the exam should be conducted before itself, so that we can get more time for internship opportunities.
