The eligibility criteria for taking admission in GMIT are a minimum of 60% marks in the 12th board exam in the science group (PCM) and a valid WBJEE or JEE(Main) grade card. Anyone can get all the admission-related information like application forms, application fees, application dates, etc from the official website of GMIT which is gmitkolkata.org. GMIT also has a WhatsApp chatbot which is named Vidya to provide any information related to admission, scholarship, Bank loan, etc.

I was taken a course in the department of Electrical Engineering. I chose this course because I was curious about various kinds of electrical components and their working principle, applications, etc, and want to explore the world of Electrical Engineering. The faculty of GMIT is excellent in their specialized domain and there is no doubt about their qualification and teaching expertise. They always try to improve the learning potential of each student with their vast knowledge and expertise. If you regularly do your daily task, then it is not difficult to pass any examination in GMIT.

The Career Development Cell (CDC) of our college carefully examines every student and finds out their interest. Then provides various kinds of training based on the interest of each student. In the end, our student placed in Basseti, TCS, Wipro, AT & T, HUL, and Infosys with various kinds of job roles like Data analytics, Web designer, Application developer, etc.

From the 3rd year 6th semester, the students of our college are eligible for taking part in the placement drive conducted by the Career Development Cell (CDC) of our college. Every year, various start-ups and MNCs like TCS, and Bavistech Technologies visited our college campus.

You need to pay fees for your current semester only. The semester fees are fixed at the time of your admission and there is no fee hike in the middle of your entire course. I got a Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means scholarship and a bank loan under West Bengal Student Credit Card scheme to fund my educational expenses. So my parents do not need to worry about my educational expenses.

Every year, a cultural fest was organized in our college in the month of January. Some students of the 3rd and 4th-year lead this program. Every student actively participated in this program and enjoyed it a lot. Our college also has a large library, some excellent librarians and a great learning environment, and necessary infrastructure. Every year, our college organized Annual sports, Blood donation camps, Tree plantation programs, etc. Even during the covid-19 pandemic, our college launched a free vaccination campaign for all of its students and faculty members.

The hostel room of our college is wisely decorated. And our hostel provides good quality and healthy meals 4 times a day. The registration process for staying in the hostel is super easy and hassle-free. On top of that, we enjoyed a better quality of lifestyle in our hostel.
