Remarks

The college is relatively good for tier 2 and tier3 students who are not in NITs. Infrastructure and faculty has improved tremendously in last few years. The college being in the outskirt has a slight disadvantage for social life. Overall it provides a de

Entrance Preview

The admission procedure is through AIEEE where the rank above 15000 is eligible here. I opted for Mechanical stream for a reason that I was very much interested in automobile, mechanical and thermodynamics.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum covers details and theories. Lot of therotical information but focus is not much on practical and research. The subjects throughout 4 years and the kind of assessment it offers is quite hectic at times. It gives you more than flavour and one can choose the major and to career to excel in. The curriculum offers lot of theoretical knowledge and less on practical side. Also, one can do projects and research on individual levels. The faculty can offer guidance but not a platform for the students.

Internships Opportunities

The college has a department for placement and internship assist. However, it is an individual effort and assistance can be taken.

Placement Experience

2.5

Company placement is decent for IT. Mechanical companies were few and included Hero cycles, Sonalika etc. The pool campus placement activities are conducted for group of 3-4 colleges. The job opportunities are less as of now but it still provides good platform for individuals who are hardworking and smart.

College Events

3

Annual event like ARMAGEDDON and few cultural event is there in a year. Armageddon is the annual and biggest event of the year. The event includes cultural fest, inter college competition from posters to debate to games and dance, Freshers party is again a big event and then there is other events like paper presentations.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is about 1 lakh an annum and might have increased in last couple of years. The fee structure is almost same for PTU colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Study loan can be taken from most of the banks. Not any scholorship is offered though. Almost alll banks offer the loans under government student loan policy at a decent rate of interest. There is no particular scholarship for students.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio is good. Workshop is there in the campus which need to be improved. The discipline is maintained and strictness is maintained. Student diversity is mosy from norther. Part from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh with few from eastern Bengal. Hostler to day scholar ratio is almost 50%.

Hostel Facilities

3

Mess food is not good. However hostel facility is good. The mess is maintained bt private contractor and is of sub standard quality. The food variety is also not available. The rooms are good with fans and coolers and no AC. Bathrooms are of decent size a

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni meet is organised annually and it is upto individual to connect with the seniors. There is only one program of alumni meet which provides some interaction between the passes out students and faculty.

Exam Structure

The exam structure includes minors and major and final exams which is a hectic one. It includes 3 minors out of which 2 are considered. The major exams of 60% weightage. Also practical are there with 20% weightage. One research project and 1 last industri

Faculty

3.5

The faculty has improved a lot from previous years. The faculty is dedicated towards the task but still it is not at the level of NITs. The faculty can guide you on your research but they can not offer the platform and scope for your exclusive research wo

Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
