SNGCE - My experience

Remarks :

The admission process is based on rank in the engineering entrance examination. Students with good rank were admitted. The application form is available on their official website. As I belong to another eligible community (OEC) I had a reservation and I got admission easily. The admission process is a very acceptable method for students from different places.

Course Curriculum Overview :

As I had some interest in the construction field I opted for this course. Faculties are really helpful and I got a good quality of education from this institution. Most of the faculties are well experienced. Some of the faculties were guest lecturers and their way of teaching was very nice where students can ask for clarification without any embarrassment. In the case of examinations, the college rules were very strict. Sometimes students may find it difficult because of frequent examinations. Every month there was an internal examination. Apart from that, they conducted some class tests too. If we study regularly it is easy to pass all the examinations. Otherwise, students may fail.

Placement Experience :

From the 6th semester itself, students can attend placements. I think most of the companies that visited our college provided at least a single placement. The highest pay was around 1 lakh a month and the average pay is about 20000. The percentage of students getting placement is less than 15% which is a disappointing thing about the college. As I am graduating in the year 2019, I am working in a construction company.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The entire course fee was around 450000 but students got many opportunities like scholarships to lower their examination fees. As I belong to other eligible communities I paid around 10000 a year which was very fewer fees. Also, I received around 6000 rupees stipend in a year

Campus Life :

Every year they conducted a tech fest and art fest in February. There is a wide variety of study materials available in the library and it is really helpful for students. All classrooms are well furnished with all the essential facilities. The campus also provides a lot of extracurricular activities like football for students to relax and shape their carrier. Since chit chats is one of the Facebook pages handled by students where their memories are shared.

Actually placement cell is a bit week the company's is not that reputed and they offer monthly salary of 12k to 15k. Probably some startup companies. And many students choose that and work for 1 or 2 years to gain experience and then they apply for better opportunities.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year onwards we could attend placement interviews and many companies used to approach our college but mostly IT companies as I was in civil dept the construction companies were very less or NIL. In our batch, most of the students got placed and many offer letters but the only disadvantage was the offers were not from the core companies.
