Great Experience

College could improve their Placement statistics. All other things you expect from an Engineering college are there. So in short apart from placements and Mess food this college is good to go.

I took MHCET exam in 2007 and scored 134 marks out of 200.I was looking for either computer science or IT branch in any reputed college. I guess those marks weren't enough for me to get myself into Mumbai University's good college so I opted for Pune university. After litte enquiry about all the colleges in Pune University I chose few colleges in which Pad. Dr. Vithalrao Vikhe Patil College Of Engineering was the first one and hence I chose it.

As this college comes under Pune University it was bound to the curriculum Pune University has provided. I was in IT branch and had covered all subjects which most of the other universities do like Algorithms,TOC,Computer Network, DBMS, Software Architecture. I should agree that we had the best electives in our curriculum. I chose Artificial Intelligence as my elective in my final year which itself too much popular these days. We had few more electives like Mobile Computing, Neural Networks, Cloud Computing. All electives covers most of the booming technologies of this days.

Pune University didn't allow BE students to do an internship at our time. So no company came for internship to our college. Although we had nice PAT department which regularly used to conduct programs which would help us in Placements and Aptitude.

At our time only few companies came.First was ZEPPELIN MOBILE SYSTEMS INDIA LTD which took more than 20 students from IT,Electronics and other branches. They were offering us 10k month i.e. 1.2 lac annum. One other company came for ENTC branch and thats all. So I can conclude that this college does not have good placement and job opportunities or you can say no opportunities.

In technical events our college had organized National level seminars, robotics competition and Paper presentations.Cultural events,every year we used to have annual gathering function. Although the cultural event were restricted to our college only,they were quite big and used to go for 3 days.

Fees was bit high considering the college location and and the year I started studying. I paid 58K per year fees. Fees structure was simple and generic and includes all basic things. I felt it was expensive but now a days many colleges below par level also charge more fees,so cant complain about it.

You cant call it as scholarship but our college used to provide fees concession for Economically Backward Class people. I never heard about any one availing loan from the college.

Campus life was awesome. Our college is situated in hilly area so the location itself is quite happening. College used to conduct annual sports in january month of every year. We never had issues with race or gender or any such nonsense. Ragging is strictly prohibited and no one even slightly closer to it. Hostel parties were always on birthday nights late night tea at Dhabas (for students staying in PG).

We had huge hostel facility at our college. Rooms were 4 sharing.Rooms were big enough for occupying 4 people. Had separate cupboard to keep our belongings. No problem with college hostel they were the best. Mess food was disgusting. The worst food I eve

Senior students were always good to us. They always helped us in difficult situation. Our professor has a facebook group for all alumni of our college where we gather and share our thought and experiences.

We had semester pattern so after each semester we used to have main university exams. Internally our college used to conduct mid sem exams written and lab exams. This mid sem exams marks used to reflect in our final internal marks so you cant skip it. So

Faculty and staff were friendly,good and helpful.Like all faculties our faculty also had their areas of expertise and weakness. We cant categorize them as the worlds best faculty but they were good at what they do and had all basics clear. Whenever I had
