Remarks

The college is very good, the management is very good, the staff is very helpful, the teachers are warm and loving and coming to vidyalankar changed my life for good.

Entrance Preview

No entrance exam was taken, I finished my diploma in Computer Technology and secured admission here on scoring 77%. The international tie up with universities like Penn State, Rutgers etc was what grabbed my attention as I will proceed to Penn State to get my BS(IST) degree from there.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is very well designed, the choice of subjects programming languages etc all appeal to my taste, the subjects cover everything that is required without adding any extra burden on the student. The practical sessions conducted really allow the students to get a one on one approach to the subject allowing for proper learning and understanding.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college does provide internship. The stipend is usually between 5000-10000 rupees, there are no exact companies that you get internships at but its usually freelance tasks that you can do for people such as making an app or a website or something.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement and job opportunities are a plenty, the staff helps you understand and prepare yourself for the time that you will start getting interviews, and accordingly you are brought up that way. The students can easily get jobs in IT sectors after getting their BSCIT degree.

College Events

4

My college has a lot of extra activities, The Computer Society of India is a big part of our college and orgranizes multiple hackathons as well as other quiz competitions. There are also VERVE and VIGOUR which are the college fests that focus on arts, dance, music and other cultural activities. There is also NSS that involves social work

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is affordable and feasible, for students who choose to join the international program pay around 2.5L a year whilst the students who wish to get their degree from Mumbai University have to pay around 70,000 a year roughly. The fee structure is pretty affordable and its well worth it given the campus and everything else.

Fees and Financial Aid

For students who cant afford the fee structure, they can always take it up to the principal and figure something out to help the student with the finances, for students going to foreign universities, they are awarded a fee waiver of 1500$

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is amazing and has 3 major buildings, AC classrooms, AC libraries, canteens and a lot of free and open ground space to indulge in sports activities. The gender ratio is pretty much as any other engineering college. The labs are all AC equipped with good hardware, there are multiple sports competitions held all year round for football, vollyball, etc. CSI focuses on robotics and other IT related events and debates.

Hostel Facilities

4

No hostel facilities. The canteen at our college is collabrated with Cafe Coffee Day and also there are 3 major canteens, one is the CCD lounge, other 2 are V LOUNGE and Management lounge, all three serve a large variety of Indian and chinese dishes along with snack items and beverages.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is simplified, You have midterm exams which are 40 marks each subject scaled down to 25, You have practical exams which are 40 marks each subject with 10 marks for internals, and you have a 75 mark theory paper or final paper which is set by Mumbai University, totally each subject holds for 150 marks and students are awarded Pointers out of 10 as opposed to marks.

Admission

I visited the viie.edu.in website which was suggested by my brother, The fact that that I could study abroad with a two year plan was very interesting, I called up the VSIT office and enquired, fixed a meeting with the vice principal and proceeded to apply like any normal student with the Mumbai university website

Faculty

4.5

The faculty at my college is just plain AWESOME. The teachers are very attentive to the need of the students and focus on all students in the class. The teachers are well versed with the subjects theyre teaching and allow for an amazing learning experience. They make use of PPTs and PDFs to allow us to study and also provide us with books and notes for reference purpose.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Strong academic legacy with expereinced faculties and balanced content- preparing you for future studies and entrance exams and olympiads. very much strict, i would say not needed. somehwere you may experience baised behaviour; but when you are focused on gaining knowledge then these things dont matter as its only a matter of three years. Relevance of course is there but for applying for further studies not for that much for job prospects, if you want atleast a decent salary job.

I have rarely seen companies coming to our college for placement purposes for our course but I have seen companies coming for BCOM and BCA. I don't know about my course as I am currently in my second year. The percentage of students getting placements are veryess as my friend from third year said that out of 150 students only 10 students got placed this year which is very less compared to other colleges. My plans after getting the degree is if I got a job in any of the it company I will do it for experience and side by side I am planning to pursue my education in MSC CS
