Remarks

College management was very good and strict specially in case of fighting and raging.

Entrance Preview

BITSAT, Score- Do not remember, Course was giving better job opportunity and a good exposer to top companies. Good R&D facility and faculties were also awesome.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course structure for Masters course was pretty much research oriented. All the courses were the advanced form of that present in bachelor degree as Advanced Data Structure, Advance Operating System, Advance Computer Architecture etc. Practical labs were conducted with students access to lab all 24 hours, which was very amazing as we can do practicals even in night. Research Paper presentation was also taken in consideration for better R&D opportunities.

Internships Opportunities

Yes their was teaching assistant scholarship given to us. Monthly stipend was 8000 Rs. Their were various work given such as conducting lab, checking papers preparing solutions Invigilation (most boring one). conducting lab was very fun as it was giving opportunity to interact with juniors guys.

Placement Experience

5

For Computer and Science branch, placement was superb, but not so good for other branch. Their were total 6 guys in my course, all of them got good placement with an average package of 12 lakh per year. Even internship opportunity was great. I did internship in cisco, bangalore which gave a good exposure for me. Even internship amount was 35K per month which was pretty decent.

College Events

4.5

There were many events conducted out of which Perl- cultural fest was my favorite one. Many famous celebrities were invited in this for giving performance. Apart from them cultural Fest and Sports fest also occurred. Since I studied only two years in that, i didn't got more opportunity to participate in them. Apart from them there were various communities formed which belong to different region. Most of the festivals were celebrated in these college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Personally I feel fees structure is very expensive in BITS, about 70K per semester. But for poor students their are certain scholarship which is a bit relief for them. But all is well if it ends up in a good placement. Easy loan facility is also available.

Fees and Financial Aid

I did not availed any loan, but most of my friend took. It was very easy to take one. I was getting teaching assistant which was 8K per month. Their ware many scholarship programs also for good students and poor students.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio was very low. Very less girls compares to boys, I think 5:1 ratio. Students were from all over India. Campus life was full of learning and enjoyment. Even attendance was not compulsory. Good level of playground for cricket, football, tennis, basketball, running track, badminton, Table tennis, pool etc were available. All religion were given equal treatment, student politics was very healthy.

Hostel Facilities

5

Personally I liked the hostel and the mess very much. Single room was allotted to us which were very spacey. Internet facility was good. Internal lan was maintained and a great amount of data was shared comprising of good knowledge and entertainment. Mess was having clean and tasty food which were governed by students council. Veg/Nonveg boath meals were available. Mid night snax till 11 in night was also available.

Alumni/Alumna

Their is a strong alumni network available in various networking sites for bits, which help in career, room finding, experience sharing etc. During cultural fest we go to our college and gives a great way to connect to juniors.

Exam Structure

There were various type of test been conducted throughout the curriculum and each of them have wait-age over the final rating. Three types of test were conducted: Close Book, Open Book and Open Computer (toughest one). Final grading were constructed based upon relative grading.

Admission

BITSAT examination details came in the site. Given the written exam. Written exam consisted of one paper for main subject, i.e., computers in my case and then one mixed paper containing physics, math and some other subjects. Over all score of both subjects are counted for qualification. After qualifying written exam, a short interview was also taken at the time of joining.

Faculty

4

Faculties in the college were well qualified but number of faculties were very less, so sometimes faculties gets overburden. As a part of M.E. courses, we were doing teaching assistant which gave us better opportunities to interact with faculties. Most of the time faculties were busy in research related activities.

There are many placement oppurtunities like internships and FTEs. The drives for internships will start from the second semester of first year. Students were shortlisted for drives based on the CGPA. Companies like Micron, Qualcomm, Synopsys, Druva visit the campus for hiring. The numbers of offers they provied will not be static. The highest package is about 38 LPA and avg is about 19 LPA. 90-95% students are placed in the previous batches. My plan after getting a degree is join in a corporate to showcase my talent and make contributions to the projects.
