Remarks

BHU conducted its own exam known as BHU UET in the year 2020. The eligibility for the UET Ag exam was PCB/M/Agri. Currently, admission to the university takes place through CUET and all the information regarding the courses/ fee is available on BHU's official website.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum is very well defined and the students are provided with the full syllabus of the whole curriculum beforehand. The professors stick to those topics. The faculty students are around 20:1 and the ratio even becomes better if we include the PhD scholars under this. We get to interact with them and they are of helpful attitude. Each and every faculty is a PhD holder in their respective streams. Teaching methods vary among them. Few of the just come and talk and we note the important points down. Many of them come with some slides and presentations and explain the topic according to the points mentioned in the slides, which I think is the best method of teaching. Exams happen in time. The syllabus and classes are planned accordingly. The difficulty level of the paper is not that much. If the student has attended all the classes, he/she can score well in the examination. In a nutshell, the questions don't come out of what is being taught in the class. This motivates us to be regular.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Generally, we don't get a lot of internship opportunities on campus. Students look for such opportunities online or offline if they have such connections. The internships, in the beginning, are however unpaid but it really depends on the individual and his/her capacity and how much he can earn.

Placement Experience

3.5

Generally, the Placement is average for the B.Sc graduates as most of the people tend to do some additional courses after that. Some go for MBA, and civil services exams and the majority of them appear for the JRF exam. However, the companies do visit the college and the average salary offered by them is around 4-6 lakhs. My plan after my undergrad is to pursue MBA in Agribusiness Management.

Fees and Financial Aid

The overall fee is not that much. The whole curriculum cost up to 6-7k only. Mess and hostel charges are different. Various scholarships are also offered especially for economically weaker students. I don't know much about the job opportunities yet.

Campus Life

4

The Institute of Agricultural Sciences conducts its cultural fest known as Srishti and its sports fest known as Saahas. This takes place in the month of January and February. Being in BHU also gives us an edge that we can attend various other fests conducted by other faculties as well. One of the most renowned fests is Kashiyatra which is organized by IIT BHU. The library at IAS, BHU is well equipped with books. The quality is also fine. There is no air conditioning though. The classroom is also equipped with all the smart devices and internet connection as well as a smart board and projector. Extracurricular activities are also present such as cricket training, swimming and etc. Interested students can also opt for the diploma course in any dance form, music and acting. One of the famous clubs that I know about is Rhetorica- the debating society. It is led by students of the Faculty of Social Sciences but students from any faculty are open to joining.

Placement Experience:

Students get placed in starting of 4th year that is 7th semester. The companies that often visit are pradhan co.pvt.ltd, seed companies and drone companies also companies like Nestle and britannia visit for placements. Highest ctc in 2025 was 19LPA and the avg was 7.5 LPA these data are also available on nirf site. Nearly 30% students get placed because remaining prefer higher studies over placement, those who are financially weak consider placement. My plans are different, I'm preparing for CAT and want to persue mba in agribusiness management from iim ahmedabad or iim lucknow.
