Eligibility Criteria - Through the VITEEE examination You can find the application on the official website of VIT(vit.ac.in) and the application fee is 1150 No. VIT doesn't have any reservation benefits, i.e., VIT doesn't provide caste-based concessions and scholarships.
Course Curriculum Overview
Computer Science and engineering are one of the evergreen courses to be pursued and there is a really good future if u develop and learn the required skills while pursuing these courses. There are more than 12000 students in VIT and for the teachers, you can check the official website. There is one teacher available for every 60-80 students. Faculty in VIT Vellore are highly qualified and few of the faculty will teach students through very practical and interesting methods through which students can earn easily. In it Vellore there will be internals and externals. For internals, there will be quizzes and assignments with 2 midterms(CAT1 and CAT2). The end-term exams are conducted in NOV-DEC for the fall sem and APRIL-MAY for Winter Sem. The papers of VIT are not so hard if you prepare well for the exams instead of studying one night before.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies like Google, PayPal, Facebook, TCS, and many other good-paying companies come for placement at VIT Vellore. They provide you with a great stipend. When it comes to industrial internships (mandatory UC credit course) you have to find one on your skills.
Placement Experience
students in Btech are allowed to appear in campus placements from the end of their sixth semester. The companies that come to placement are really good and offer good packages for the students. The average package of students in VIT is 8.19 Lakhs. Almost all students in CSE in VIT Vellore get placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
In VIT Vellore for B.Tech courses, there are 5 Categories. The first two categories are affordable, but the 3rd, 4th and 5th categories are hard to afford for a middle-class student. the fees for Cat1 is 1,98,000 , Cat 2 is 3,07,000 , Cat 3 is 4,05,000, cat 4 is 4,48,000 and the fees for cat 5 is 4,93,000. You can also apply for scholarships, but the selection process to avail of the scholarship is quite hard.
Campus Life
Life at the VIT Vellore campus is really good and also tiring as you have to walk a lot. There are two fests conducted every year. The technical fest is known as Gravitas and is usually conducted in September/October and the Cultural fest is known as Rivera which is conducted during February. The is also Prime Vera which is generally like a Freshers fest. The library at VIT is really good, it provides a lot of books. The classrooms are spacious. There is a wide range of sports facilities and student clubs and chapters on the campus.
Hostel Facilities
There are two types of room types provided during the hostel selection process: AC and NAC. In an AC room, you will be provided with an AC remote and you can turn it on and off and adjust the temperature as per your needs. The food quality in VIT mess is not bad, it depends from hostel to hostel as each hostel is catered by a different catering agency. The hostel selection is done through the First come first serve process(Fastest Fingers first). Make sure you have a good internet connection during the hostel selection process.
