Best for Mining related areas

I applied for IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Kanpur the Environmental science and engineering branch of this college is 2nd in the country in placement, research and academics. If you want any placement in the core environment then this is the place where you can at least expect some as compared to other IITs, (IIT Bombay has only better placement than IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. Because of the environment being itself a parent department its placement is good. for the research work also if you want you can perform research in any field related to the environment.

The course structure is more or less toward a mining background but it's well structured so you will enjoy it. It is slightly industry point of view so you will learn a lot and will help in your better placement. at last placement matters. The students were in my batch of about 42 students where 3 girls were there. Most of the students join to have a study time for government exams also obviously in civil engineering department what else you expect. Faculties are highly qualified. Most of them phd from Top IITs and Post docs also. so qualifications of professors are a lot and they are the best in their fields. You won't find any faculty who is having less knowledge. They know the subjects and teaching style of most of the faculties are also good. you will enjoy it. There are a lot of exams to keep us on track, you will find 4 quizzes and an end sem exam in a semester.

Costs for m.tech vary. It depends on which time you enter. As of now, the fees are nearly 1.04 lakh per year which was supposed to increase as per government guidelines. The college does not set the fee by itself it all depends on the government policy and yes if you are from a reserved category then need not worry the government will take care of all. You can find the fee structure easily for a detailed section of all the fee structures for specific things. Scholarship for M.tech is there provided by MHRD for all the gate qualified students about 12.4k monthly stipend you'll get for the m.tech but you will not be able to claim any other scholarship as a student can avail any one stipend. On-campus placement is good for an internship as well as final placement for you. the only thing that needs to be taken care of you need to have proper knowledge in the field and be able to defend the panel at regular interval.

Campus life is very good. you will be able to experience fests and clubs in college. Outside you will regret but on campus, there are a lot of events happening almost daily and a lot to explore. The library of IIT(ISM) is the best. you will love to go there.
