Know about IEM.

I joined the college because I reviewed it through different online sites and found it to be serious with studies as well as disciplined. The teachers are really good and helpful here. It's my second year and I have got to join different events which were arranged even amid the covid situation and some of them were online. Someone who has cleared their class 12th with about 70% marks can apply for the course. The form for admission can be taken from the IEM Ashram building at Salt late, sector-5 of Kolkata. The admission process is very simple, one just needs to take a CET examination organized by NAKAUT and then apply for the course after getting the results.

I chose this course because I have an interest in business as well as management activities. The faculty in IEM are qualified and supportive. We have about 180 students in our year and there are about 6-7 faculty members who are always eager to provide any help needed. The teaching methods are also good. The teachers are experienced and have various interesting ways to make us understand different topics. There are 3 exams every semester. 2 of them are mid-term exams and the Final semester exam. Midterms are conducted about every 1.5 months and the final semester exams are conducted a few days after the second mid-term.

Currently, after the second-year exams are done, everyone is being provided with some internships at different companies. There are various roles of marketing, sales, HR, and finance being provided at different companies like Bajaj, Time of India, Deloitte etc,.

The students are eligible to sit for placements once they are completed their 2nd Year. Many students do not sit for the placements as they want to go for higher studies but the ones who sit for placements, about 80-90% of them get placed in some company. I have opted for the placements and currently waiting for the placements to begin.

There hasn't been any fees hike since I joined the institution. Various scholarship programs are conducted to help needy students. Like during the pandemic many students were relieved from paying fees for 1-2 semesters as per the need. I'm currently in my second year so I haven't yet got a job but my seniors have taken the placements and they were happy with the placements they got.

Many fests are happening all year round. Our cultural fest is named IMPACT and is held in November. There are other various fests like the Techfest, the Nirvana events, etc. We don't have a playground of our own but sports day is conducted at different stadiums. There are various indoor games such as carrot, table tennis, mini-golf, etc available. There are also various clubs such as the Finance Club, Sports club, etc are run by the students. Every room has good quality projectors, sound systems, big benches, fans, and AC.

The rooms are spacious and open. Fans, a projector, big benches, AC, speakers, etc are provided. I haven't beetoon the hostel so I don't know the process of hostel registration. There is no meal system in the institution but if needed one can get meals from the canteen daily which are affordable and healthy. If one needs to rent PG or a room then New town, Sector-3 and sector-4 of the salt lake are nearby locations.

One needs to first sit for the CET exams organized by MAKAUT and get IEM as their colleagues in the allotment. They can easily get IEM in allotments if they choose only IEM as their preferred college in CET. Once they get the allotment, they can come to IEM Ashram Building, in Salt Lake sector-5 in Kolkata. There they can complete their final admission process by registering with the institution.
