Mechanical engineering is one of the best branches of the College of Technology Pantnagar. It is one of the oldest and core branches of this college. Faculties are well qualified and knowledgeable and very helpful. Faculties are engineers, assistant professors and professors who are PhD qualified. Exams and tests are taken monthly and semester-wise. To pass the semester exam is not very difficult if students study whatever teach in class.

Internship opportunities are available for every student. It all depends on students where they want to do an internship. Internship companies for mechanical Engineering are Mahendra, Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland etc. Similarly, other branches also get intership from different companies.

On-campus placements are not very good. Placement per cent is around 30 to 35 per cent. Many students go for off-campus placements and most of the students prepare for other competitive or government exams. Pantnagar University gives a competitive environment for other exams that why most of the students prepare for GATE, UPSC, CAT, CDS etc and lots of aspirants clear the exam with very good ranks all over India. fourth-year students become eligible for campus placements. The highest package is very from the brach to brach. The highest package for mechanical Engineering is around 12 lakh per annum and the average package is 5 lakh to 6 lakh per annum. For the time being my plan is to prepare for government exams.

Fees are average or it is below average compared to the B tech course of other colleges. You can complete your four-year course in 4.5 lakh including your library fees, lab fees, hostel fees, and mess charge. Apart from this, you can also get scholarships if you are eligible like NSP LIC or another scholarship program.

There are a lot of societies in the universities so it is very genuine that lots of fests are held every month like Razmatas, veterinary fare, Cologium and other activities like freshers and farewell. Here is one of the biggest libraries in India. You can access a number of books and varieties of books in every field. Projectors are available in every classroom. There are sports grounds in every hostel and a common stadium for the whole University where different types of games and sports activities are organised regularly. Many extracurricular activities are held like dancing, singing etc. Social groups are like Engineering Technical Society ETS, Entrepreneur Cell, Sanskriti Chetna Parishad etc
