One should definitely go for BIT Mesra after IIT and BITS.

One needs to give JEE Mains to get admission to BIT Mesra. The counselling is done by JOSAA and is based on JEE Mains rank and having a CRL under 15000 can ensure a general candidate CSE in our college. One can avail of reservation benefits like SC, ST, OBC etc. I have availed of the GEN EWS category reservation. Overall the admission process is very nice and but still, I would to like see my college have its counselling system so that a brand of its own can be set up.

All professors are PhD qualified and are knowledgable. The course curriculum is not relevant to today's world, but then the curriculum is the same for all engineering colleges (as AICTE gives the curriculum). Professors are friendly, but some are exceptions too. They provide extra time for doubt solving and can go the extra mile to help the students. We have three quizzes, one mid-sem and one end-sem in a semester. One needs to score 5 SGPA to pass a semester.

Internship opportunities are not that great in my college. Even in CSE and IT dept very few (around 1/3rd), students get internship offers. Companies like Microsoft, Tata Steel, Amazon, and Hotstar come to our college for hiring interns.

Placement for my branch is excellent! Everyone from my department was placed every year. Last year 84% of students were placed in just one month itself. Students became eligible for placements from the 7th semester. The average placement package at my college is 10.52LPA and the median is 8.6LPA. For my branch, it is 18 LPA median 20 LPA average. Companies like Microsoft, Atlassian, Adobe, Mindtickle

The fee is around sixteen lakhs for four year BTech degree. This includes mess hostel and everything else. The fee is surely on the higher side but then the return on investment is also great (especially for CSE/IT students). Our college does offer a few scholarships like the GP Birla scholarship where based on JEE rank and SGPA one can get a scholarship. But also keep in mind the fact that the number of scholarships offered is extremely less in number.

Our college hosts multiple fests throughout the year. From E-Summit to Bitotsav there is no dearth of fests. And each fest opens up more opportunities for students to explore and to grow. Our cultural fest Bitotsav is a grand fest and is in its own feat. Regarding the library, we have a fully air-conditioned multi-storey building dedicated to the library only, It has all the course books. There is also a book bank for SC/ST students. Also, the library has multiple newspapers and journals. The classrooms are very well built. They are fully air-conditioned and spacious, and also have projectors for better teaching. Our college has a very good sports complex having all kinds of sports amenities from a badminton court to a shot-put ground. Also, it has a very well equipped gym (one for boys and one for girls). There are multiple clubs for students to participate in and grow from Leo club to EDC.

The hostels need some serious renovation. The mess of food is hygienic and tasty. However, the LAN connection needs some repairs, as it is very erratic. Other than these few cons the hostels are nice and good. Hostel charge is 16000 per semester for 1st year but it increases by 2000Rs every year. Mess charges somewhere between 3000-3500 Rs per month.
