NIT Warangal - a good grab

JEE Mains act as an entrance exam for all NITs in India. With my AIR I was able to clear the cutoff rank for NIT Warangal in ECE for EWS quota. You can apply for JEE Mains through online. The application fee for JEE Mains varies from Rs.600 to Rs.325. In general they open the application entries around 2 to 3 months before the Exam schedule. NITs has reservation quota including EWS.

I chose this course so that I can have opportunity to switch between core and software. The student faculty ratio is pretty good here and they are quite helpful. The tecahers here are highly experienced and many of them were worked in various NITs and IITs earlier. Exams here are frequent, Minor 1 will be in 1st month of the course and followed by Mid semester examinations in a week or 2 and Minor 2 in last month of the course followed by End Examinations in a week or 2. And we have to do assignments in between. The tecahers here especially in our department are strict (Strict in deadlines, attendance and marks..). However few are friendly.

You can apply for Internship through campus after 4th semester. You'll have Internship for almost every role and again SDE role has many opportunities as said earlier. You'll also have a good chance of getting offered PPO by the company. Average stipedn range for SDE role is around 60k to 75k and for hardware roles it is around 30k to 45k.

You have your placement season getting started after your 6th semester. Yearly many comapnies visit campus and many number of offers are made. Ofcourse the jobs offered for software profile are more than the core profile. Highest package of 2022 placement season is Rs.62.5 LPA and the average package is Rs.13 LPA. 250+ companies vistied and 1000+ students were offered jobs this year.

As this is a central Institution, the fee here is similar to any other NIT in this tier. The fee here varies from 0 to 125000 per year based on your family Income. Its 0 for below 1 lakh income and around 42k for 1 to 5 lakh Income category and 125000 for above that. Instituion gives you merit scholarship every year by returning your whole Institution fee you paid. Apart from that you can apply for various scholarships namely FFE, NSP, NSF..

Technozion and Spring Spree are the 2 fests conducted annually in our college. Technozion is known as the largest tech fest in south India whereas Spring Spree is known as largest cultural fest in south India. The central library here has almost every book and you have access for every thing here. You have the access for digital library too. Every year cricket, badmintion, football and basketball leagues are conducted. The sports clubs here are very active and participates in Inter NIT competitions frequently. There are number of clubs here run by students and each club have a faculty head. You have clubs from Astronomy to Cyber Security and Robotics to Dance and Dramatics and many more.

The hostle here is good and you'll have single and double rooms aswell. Each person is provided with a bed, fan, a high speed LAN cable. The meals here average, you'll have to get habituated to it. The registartion process and everything is offline and you'll understand once you get here. They don't allow to take you room outside of the campus for BTech students. You have to show proof that you are from around here in tne range of campus to be a dayscholar.
