Remarks

Being a BSC MATHS HONOURS student, I want to say that teachers are too good and much more supportive of mathematics. For admission, there is no entrance exam, only your 12th class marks are needed .they release cut off list .people can find admission form from the college .admission starts mostly about May and fees are about Rs 20,000 per year and if you are OBC or SC/ST then you can apply for E-Kalyan scholarship and get all your educational fees.

Course Curriculum Overview

I want to do JAM and then go for IIT college with Mathematics as I am interested in teaching line so I go for this course. Maths faculty is good but there need more teachers. Most of the teachers have done a PhD while some teachers are PhD students. The main problem is exams are not timely happen. Last year they organise 3 or 4 semesters as Gossner college is not autonomous.

Class Size: 246Course Fees: INR 22000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are generally high from other colleges of Ranchi. For Bsc, it is approx rs20000 per year, for BA it is about 17000 per year. But those who have OBC or SC/ST certificates from Jharkhand can apply for an E-Kalyan scholarship after admission and they will get all their fees. It means you don't have to spend a penny studying. College doesn't provide any campus

Campus Life

Annual fest are conducted in months of November last year..but it can vary because of covid 19 as happened from last 2 times. libray has all required books and college infrastructure is also good but the problem is there are not many sports opportunities from college. All other amenities are available.

Actually biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program where we have to learn mostly the practical skills but there is no such equipment for doing a decent type of research work as they are not in a working condition. So first it has to be corrected and new equipment should have to buy for a making a good laboratory.

Placement of my college is average. Campus placement is offered. From 5th semester students become eligible for campus placement. WIPRO along with some few other private labelled company visited and no of offers made. Highest package is 6.3 lakhs and average package is around 3 to 4 lakhs per company. Around 50% of students got placed in campus placement offers. I want to do research in Environmental toxicology after getting the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am chosen this course because mathematics is my strongest subject from all of the others that's why I can choose mathematics. Faculty member of our college is very supportive but some of the teachers are very rude behaviour. Our college teachers are very disciplined about teaching and any project work. My class have 250 students. Every semester our college takes mid sem exam then a viva exam, assignment on every paper, group discussion, surprise test. The exam pattern was based on their classes. The exam pattern is moderate most times.

Positive: Good staff, your work will be finished in a day or in two days. Negative: There are group of aggressive students active in campus but don't worry they don't problem for you until you mesh with them. Also there in lack of proper classes and study in regular order.
