Remarks

The eligibility criteria for courses in VIT differs, for B.tech it was a minimum 50 % aggregate in PCM for 20201 batches for admissions but generally, it is 75%, Application form for the exam"VITeee" will be available on the VIT official website from where you can register for the entrance examination. For ST/SC the eligibility criteria are less as compared to the general about 10% less. When it Comes to the admission process VIT is very systematic and fast you will not feel that you didn't get what you deserved its just a matter of time as its admission process is based on ranking, for eg: students from rank1 to 10k counselling will happen first after that 11k to 20k and then so on.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am pursuing B.tech in Computer Science and Engineering (core) in VIT, I Choose this course because I was interested in computers from my childhood and wanted to learn more about all the stuff and different domains in computer science, Our student is to teacher ratio is 1:16, In VIT you'll not find a case where any teacher is not interested to teach you or he/she is not willing to clear your doubts, all the classes and exams take places on time and we students are prepared for it as well because it all takes places as decided in the tentative academic calendar given to us before the start of every semester, all faculties teaching here are highly qualified and have deep knowledge on the topic or subject they are teaching, most of are Ph.D holders and have been good researchers in their academic times.

Internships Opportunities

3

VIT offers some Internship opportunities to its student during the summer times the companies comes in the campus for internships and take students for 1 month to 1-semester internship in their organization, some stats for the number of PPOs from VIT are JP Morgan(60), Wells Frago(10), Visa(10), HPE city(8) Morgan Stanley(5), Fidelity investments (13), etc, VIt also offers a lot of foreign internships in the form of different student programs such as Sap (semester abroad program), Majority of students go for internships whether it be on-campus internships or off-campus, Students with PPOS or Job offers are not needed to do the capstone project.

Placement Experience

3

College placements are quite good in VIT, Mostly the companies start coming from the 6th semester and the placement drive lasts till 8th semester, some of the top recruiters of 2021 were Microsoft, Infosys, HP, Dyte, PayPal, DE shaw, Amazon, This year the Highest package is 75LPA, and the average CTC was around 7LPA, a Total number of companies visited for placement in 2021 was 842 number of dream offers were 2200 and number of super dream offers were 1311. Students usually prefer having a GPA of around 8.5 or more because the number of students is more in VIT so we have a great competition among ourselves only, students also start looking for off-campus during the 7th-semester opportunities as they don't want to lose any opportunity. My plans as of now are to grab the best core developer job available to me during the placement drive and work for that particular organization for 2,3 years and gain some corporate experience and then I'll be moving abroad for MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

In VIT, the fees structure for students depends on their VITeee counselling and VITeee rank of a student, VIT has divided its fees structure into different categories, a student fall under which category will be decided by that particular year's cutoff. For B.tech: category 1 fees:- 2 lakh per year(approx), category 2 fees:- 3 lakh per year(approx), category 3 fees:-4 lakh per year(approx), category 4 fees:-4.50 lakh per year(approx), category 5 fees:- 5 lakh per year(approx), There are no Scholarships for which you can opt for but the students here usually take educational loans because VIT has a good reputation and banks are willing to give you a loan in their name very easily. There are no stipend jobs available on the campus but students here usually do freelancing on different online sites to earn and learn.

Campus Life

4.5

The two main events of VIT are "Riviera" and "Gravitas", Riviera is the annual sports and cultural fest of VIT which takes place for 4 days and it gives students a big platform to showcase their talents in dance, drama, debate, literature, art, cultural, etc. We have around 200+ clubs and chapters inside VIT which organizes different events during Riviera as well, we had many big stars and performers like Shruti Hasan, Sonu Nigam, Aayushman Khurana, etc on board as well. Gravitas is the technical and design fest where we innovate and learn it is a 3-day event. VIT has a campus of 372 acres and students come here from all over India. We have a central library of 6 floors which is spread in 7770 sq m, it has around 2.5 lakhs of books whether it be course-related books you favourite fictional novel you will get it here. All the classes are quite big and properly ventilated, all labs have AC. You'll get all the other facilities like badminton courts, a swimming pool, gyms etc as well.

Hostel Facilities

4

In VIT students are available with some different room types and they can choose any of them in the first year and after that room allotments are gpa based. different room types with fees(approx):- 1 bedded:- 1.30 lakh, 2 bedded:-1 lakh, 3 bedded:-95k, 4 bedded:85k, 6 bedded:75k, These fees are for AC rooms non AC have slightly fewer fees, you'll be provided with laundry service charges that are already included in hostel fees, for girls hostels are of two types apartment types and non-apartment types. cons of hostels are that they have very strict rules(especially for girls), for boys hostels they don't have attached washrooms in hostel rooms. Registration of the hostels is done through an online portal called Vtop. Mess in terms of food is quite good as compared to other colleges, The 3 different mess types in VIT with fees are:- Vegetarian mess:51500 NON-VEG mess:58200 Special mess: 66300 4 times meals are served for every mess.

Other Applied Colleges

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
