Tcet,not the perfect but better than others!

College management needs to be improved because sometimes in order to get a sign also we have to wait for a long period also encouragement is not as expected by management for extra curricular activites as teachers arent supportive in terms of attendance given to support extra curricular activities.Also it is strict for unnecessary things sometimes like not playing loud dj during one of the fest.

I gave JEE main exam and scored 59 marks in the mains, and a cumulative score of around 85. I opted for tcet because ot is a reputed college in mumbai and also because of travelling issues coz its the nearest engg college. Also the placements records are better than other colleges.

The college organises various workshop to meet industry requirements but mostly students take it because it is either compulsory or its free and offering a certificate.Our college has a R&D cell to promote research projects. Eligible students work on the research projects. But for my course i havent got a decent feedback in case of research related activities

As i am in my 2nd year we dont have internships. But talking about third year the college tells that they will provide internships. So currently i cant tell about this topic

The placements at tcet are decent as almost 80-90% students who are eligible to get placement are placed in good companies. The regular visitors are infosys, accenture, igate, tech mahindra. The average package is about 3.0-4.0 lacs per annum. Maximum package for current batch is around 7 Lacs.

A lot of events take place in our college like Zephyr-Technical fest. The footfall is decent every year, people from different part of mumbai come to visit. Footloose a popular dancing eventSoujorn-Cultural fest. Its organised by the students council. Intra sports tournament Enspire- Entrepreneurship related fest.The college won the best debut award for enspire last year.

The fee structure is a bit expensive its about 1.25 lacs per year as compared to other colleges in mumbai region. Also extra fees are also taken like students council fees(we still dont know what happens with it) also sometimes compulsory paid activites also lead to problem to some students.

Yes our college has a few scholarships and fees waiver schemes. We have the Jrd tata schoralship for students scoring high cgpa. This year it was for students scoring more than 9 cgpa. Also fees is reduced for sc/st and obc students. Loans facility are also provided but i have no idea in details as such.

Campus life is awesome at tcetThe infrastructure is one of the best in mumbai.Gender ratio is quite decent but not great.A lot of extra curricular activites like eyantra competition,tech fests,Tcet Mun(Mock united nations) where students are assigned varioiscountries of UN and they have to represent their country and carry out debate.Sports ground is a big one at tcet also we have basket ball court, volleyball court, football ground,cricket nets.Also parking is easily available for cars (inside campus) and bikes outside campus.The auditorium is also great and well maintained.Also shooting of various movies and tv shows are carried out on weekends in our college recently shooting of commando-2 was going on.So you can imagine about the infrastructure of tcet and mostly we brag about infra only.Also the tcet-nss unit(social service unit) is the best part of our college as we have a good reputation among mumbai university colleges and i am a part of it also.

As i am not staying in hostel i cant tell in detail.But as i have heard from my friends the college hostel is good and also the rooms in the hostel are decent. As most of the students reside in mumbai only a few stay in the hostels. And most have taken rented houses on sharing basis with rent of almost 20K.

Senior students are very helpful as we get all info and support needed from them easily.Also the iv conducted is great way to improve the bonding of seniors and juniors.The almuni network is also niceMany times almuni are called out in campus to give seminars on various industry oriented topics.

The exam structure(Unit tests) is quite decent as we complete all the exams (6 subjects) in 3 continuos days each day 2 papers. Also break time is also good to prepare for 2nd exam as it helps us to prepare well for second exams also seats description is easy available so that we dont have to run here and there to ask for seating class

The faculty of the college is not what is expected in an engineering college in present scenario. They have masters degrees but not having the required skills to explain us the topics. Some teachers are good but not all.A Phd graduate with good knowledge but without basic teaching skills cannot become a good teacher.
