Course Curriculum Overview

4

Once this college was under Calcutta University. From then it is one of the leading university of our state. Course structure is very good. I have completed B.Sc degree in physics from here. Course is done according to the Kalyani University syllabi. It is a very good to learn basic and advanced physics.

Internships Opportunities

As per headline I said its the best in our university. But I studied a non professional course. So I don't know too much about it. But off course Its among the best according to my friends.

Placement Experience

3

Again I will say I don't know too much about it. But I have heard that top companies come to the campus and almost 70% students of professional courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA are placed. For a good student they offers around 50 k per month and for an average its not less than 30 k.

College Events

4.5

There are lots of events and occasions which are celebrated here. Its starts to welcome the new comers. Then independence day. And we celebrated teachers day gorgeously. Also saraswati puja. But most attraction is annual social function. Here performs some celebrities. We invited Arijit Singh, the famous Bollywood singer and local boy.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its a government college. So it has the cheapest fees here. There is very low tuition fees around 200 rs per month. Also some annual fees like health, current bill, sports, lab etc which are very cheap. Also admission fees is very low according to other colleges.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarship are available here. You may get too many scholarship as your qualification. And if you study in a profesional courses, you may get an educational loan very easily from bank.

Campus Life

4

Here boys and girls are almost equal. Its gender ratio is almost 1. Its campus is very attractive. One can easily spend lots of hours here. But beware of the politics. You may avoid it during the college elections. According to most colleges politics is the main problem in government colleges.

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
