I appeared for NMAT in 3 windows, 2 at the exam center and 1 at home (online). I scored a 240/360 in NMAT and that score was selected for admission into college. The cutoff for eligibility was 225/340. I chose the course out of interest. It was a super-specialized course and provides deep insight into the subjects. The faculty to student ratio is approximately 1:60. The faculty are achievers in their field of expertise, IIM/IIT pass outs, international engagements to name a few. The teaching methodology includes case discussions, presentations, audio-visual aids, role plays, guest lectures, etc. Every full credit course is worth 100 marks and half credit of 50 marks. Out of this 50% is for internal assessment that includes midterm exams, group presentations, individual assignments, attendance, and class participation. The remaining 50% constitutes the en trim written exam. I would say it is not difficult to clear the exams if you have paid attention in the classes.

Companies that come for internship opportunities are HSBC, Microsoft, Salesforce, TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, GEP, Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, Shapoorji & Pallonji, Nestle, Britannia, etc for various roles of business analyst/management trainee/ junior sales manager, etc. The stipend varies from as low as 0 to as high as 1.45 lpm.

For the final placements, a student becomes eligible from the IVth trimester. There is a pool of IT, Marketing, Tech, Banking & Finance, etc companies that conduct placements in the college. Companies like Infosys, Salesforce, GEP, Accenture, Capgemini, HSBC, JP Morgan, McKinsey, Goldman Sachs, and many more pick up students for various profiles. The highest package is around 28-30 LPA while the median is around 11-12 LPA. A record of around 95-99% of the students gets placed every year. After my MBA, I plan on securing a good placement in an IT company or pursuing higher studies.

The current fees for the 2021-2023 batch are around 17 lakhs. And the fees for the 2022-2024 batch are around 19 lakhs. Since I am in FY right now, for the summer internship, I got a sales job in the real estate field with a stipend of around 8000 pm.

There are numerous fests and events that take place in the college annually. The most famous one is Melange which takes place in the month of February. The library contains a huge number of books and has paid access to several journals and research-based portals that help students with their research studies. The classrooms are fully equipped with modern furniture, audio-visual aid that enhances the learning of the students. KJSIM pays full attention to sports and extracurricular activities and hence many inter and intra college sports events, case study competitions, trips, and educational visits are held each year. There is a list of clubs and committees for the students, by the students in the college like Grooves, SIMSR Studios, Mauj, FORSE, etc.

There was a Case Analysis(CA) round and a Personal Interview(PI) round after the profile shortlisting. The CA included your views and ideas about a particular short case (1 slide), you were given 2 mins to gather your thoughts and then speak. This was followed by a PI round that included questions based on your application. A cumulative score of these two tasks, the qualifying exam, work-exp, academic record, and extracurricular activities is calculated and a list of the selected candidates is prepared. For PI preparation, just know your application in and out and questions related to it. For the CA, there are several short case studies available over the internet.
