IIIT Raichur Review

To be part of the IIIT Raichur candidate must clear JEE mains exam and must secure 50% marks in 10+2 with the concerned stream. I was allotted this college after my JOSAA but I wanted to be part of IIT Hyderabad but after knowing that IIIT Raichur is mentored by IIT Hyderabad it was a boon for me. At the moment IIIT Raichur will be only focusing on the B.Tech program in Computer Science and Engineering as Computer Science is the future and there are lots of scopes so the main attention and the faculty regarding this stream is also wonderful in the college.

The curriculum of IIIT Raichur uses the innovative fractal academics that is pioneered by IIT Hyderabad and under the guidance of IIT Hyderabad the curriculum allows to take students to benefit from the T-educational model and to gain both breadths of knowledge and depth on the subjects of their interest. The program is divided into 8 semesters and each semester is approximately 16 weeks.

I am in my second year and our batch will be taking part in the internship program after completing 3rd year. But as per my seniors, the college placement committees invite companies during the internship program and almost 25+ companies visit the campus during the internship. The stipend depends on the company some provide a stipend and some do not.

The college is new as it was established in 2019 and we are the second batch of the college. We will be taking part in the placement drive next year but I asked about the placement program from my senior and they told me that the placement committee of the college is helpful and quite supportive and they have sent invitations to many companies and around 45+ companies are expected to take part in placement drive of the campus. Companies like Microsoft, TCS, Infosys are also expected to visit the campus. At the moment college is new and I can not tell you about the packages but as per the list and as the college is mentored by IIT Hyderabad so we can expect that students will be able to receive the package around or more than 10 LPA and we should also consider the pandemic situation.

The campus is currently operating from a temporary base. The classroom of the college is big and properly ventilated. The college also provides 24 hours WiFi facility. The college has volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis court. But at the moment due to covid, all the classes are going online and we have not got a chance to visit the campus after 1st year. But the online infrastructure is quite simple and easy to use students can easily connect with faculty and their lecture.

The rooms are available on sharing basis room is shared by 2 students. The quality of mess food is good. The hostel is equipped with 24 hours of internet connectivity. The mess food is hygenic and healthy. But we only got a chance to stay in the hostel for 1 year and after the lockdown, the classes are going online and we have not got a chance to visit the hostel. The experienced I have shared with you was my first-year experience because we only stayed for only a few months in the hostel. The hostel is equipped with all the basic facilities for students.

The faculty of the college are highly qualified and experienced. They know how to teach students and convert complex concepts into easy methods so that students can understand. The faculty from IIT Hyderabad also visit the campus for guest lectures and their experience add the cherry on the cake. The faculty and student interaction are very fruitful and faculties are able to interact with every student of the class during the lecture.
