Remarks
You have to sit for the all-India NIFT exam for BFTECH course. You can find the application form on the NIFT official website which is available from the month of Nov-Dec. The examination generally is in the month of February and the results are out by April-May
Course Curriculum Overview
BFTECH is basically about how the fashion industry and it's logistics works. Anyone who is passionate about fashion and wants to learn about the inner working of the fashion world, then go for this course. The students present is one class is 30 maximum. The faculty are all PHD holder and are from premier institutions like IIT. One semester is for about 6months and there are 2assignments in between along with a end test.
Internships Opportunities
The internship is either given by the college or by the student him/herself. Companies like Arvind, Zara, H&M hire the students as merchandiser, product manager or graphic design. Interestingly, Byjus hired a graphic designer from NIFT in the year 2020.
Placement Experience
The placement generally happens during the last year. Almost 100% placement is offered and it ranges from 4-10 lakhs p.a. However many opt for their own startups as well. Many go on for a higher degree, which is more favourable as the industry is highly competitive and you have to be on your feet.
Fees and Financial Aid
I haven't been availed of any scholarship or financial assistance. But there is one scholarship program which one can avail which is known as SARTHAK. There are prescribed condition for the scholarship to work and you can go through them in the website.
Campus Life
NIFT offers an extraordinary student life. There are many exhibitions, workshops and a major fest is held. The library is always stocked with important and rare books from all around the world. The classrooms are spacious and there are many labs for the practical work. There is a range of sports clubs on campus along with other extracurricular clubs like literary, dance etc.
