Remarks

It based on location and new college for 2011 batch. College is just beside of railway station and first admission batch is 2011. So, I hope best placement will be arranged by the college. My favourite department Mechanical Engineering have in this college with other four stream like CSE, EE, ECE and CE.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course syllabus is not updated in West Bengal board (MAKAUT) B. Tech Syllabus respect to other Indian states. College have not provide any industrial training. College neglecting about this valuable training for our future. Faculties are very good, well educated and helpful. But college management is very bad and rough behaved people.

College not provided any internship program. Some students arrange it by his own responsibility.

College provided fake capusing in our 2011 batch that passed out in 2015. Most of the companies are fake. Maximum students got placed but after end of the course not offer letter and joining letter provided. College not take any responsibility for fake campusing. Maximum students including me faced more than 1 year to get job himself.

Capus life is good. Tech feast occurred bythe college and Saraswati puja, Vishwakarma puja are held here every year. Freshees welcome, yearly feast held here. Annual sports program held every winter.

Campus Life

Sports facility is not too good but well. Play ground is very small and have not enough equipments. Wifi facility is not available in college campus. Library size is short for total 4 years students. Books are not enough for every one. Lab equipment is well.

Hostel Facilities

Separate hostel facility available for both boys and girls. Hostels room are clean and college own buses available to puck up abd drop from hostel to college and college to hostel. Hostel fees are appeox Rs. 3000 in year 2011. But food facility is not good. Foods are not good for healthy life.

Placement Experience:

The placement record in my college is preety good. 80-90% students are already placed this year. Average package is around 9.5lpa. Companies like ICICI, KPMG, PWC, Vedanta, Mother Dairy and so many are coming for recuiting students.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement is a race here. Handfull of good companies with good roles will come but they take good chunk of students. So be prepare for that and don't worry about getting good companies, here many companies offers better packages than those good companies.

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

A Deep Dive into JGEC

Placement Experience:

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

Placement Experience:

from 7th semester (for btech students), 9th semester (for dual degree students) students are eligible for campus placements. there are numerous companies which visit the campus...and generally nearly all students get placed during the placement season, but recently there has been recession and companies are not taking less number of the students than they usually do.

Below Average college with poor placement but friendly faculty members can consider only if you have no other options

The main reason for which I and most of my other classmates took admission here is affordability as one can complete his degree in less than 3.5 lakhs which is quite low compared to other colleges. I had considered taking admission in Swami Vivekananda University because of its distance from my house, although overall course fee is same in both the colleges but admission fee is quite High in SVU for which I choosed IIE over SVU. I also had an valid WBJEE rank and if chossed to sit for counselling would have got many better college with TFW scheme according to this year's cut-offs but had already taken admission and paid admission fee which was not refundable....Read More

Very good college with best teacher and a placement cell is also very good go for it for BTech and there is also Nursing from them just go for it faculty r very good Hod is behaviour is outstanding But if you tell folks you're a college student, folks are so impressed. You can be a student in anything and not have to know anything. Just say toxicology or marine biokinesis, and the person you're talking to will change the subject to himself. When I took admission in 2022 I didn't appear for any entrance exam the only eligibility criteria for taking admission is you must have PCM in your 12th with at least 45% of the marks.
