Remarks
I was required to submit my bachelor's degree in which I had over 50% overall and my CAT scores. Through the online mode, I submitted my application form at the institute's website and paid Rs.1550 as the application fee. I wanted to pursue an MBA degree but the tuition in the top institutes was very high and I didn't want a loan, hence I started looking for govt. institute around India. My first preference was DU but its cut-off was extremely high, hence I finalized HIMTU. Affordable tuition with a decent cut-off. Also, I really liked its location.
Course Curriculum Overview
As part of the curriculum, we were required to submit a number of seminars and presentations. We had to complete a total of 90 credits for the completion of the program. We also gained credits for the seminar, project work and industrial /practical training as specified in the curriculum approved by the Academic Council. As for the faculty, they had years of industry experience and a majority of them held the highest level of degree in their respective fields.
Placement Experience
My university had a training and placement cell that assisted us throughout the placement process. Our placement drive took place at the end of the second year in which various companies like Procter & Gamble, Impetus Infotech, PMC – Sierra India, Persistent Systems, Hero Honda Motors, Escorts, Citi Bank, Cipla, and Air India visited our college for on-campus placements as well as off-campus placements. The average CTC we were offered after the completion of the program was about 3 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Compared to other institutes, my tuition fee was very much affordable. For the first year, I had to pay an amount of Rs.54000 and during the second year, I paid an amount of Rs.48000. My university provided various scholarship opportunities based on our category and the merits.
Campus Life
My university was located in the hills, an amazing location indeed! The campus provided the best educational, leisure and recreational facilities for us including various kinds of laboratories, recreational facilities like Playground, Cafeteria, Gym, Auditorium, and Convenience Store and to put our theoretical knowledge into practice, we could also participate in the club activities. Apart from this, a well-stocked library, Training and Placement cell, NCC/NSS cell, University Magazine and more were also available for us to benefit from.
