Remarks

The college cutoff was 75% for commerce courses followed by the BHU UG entrance test. After being shortlisted on the basis of the entrance test, my profile was forwarded to counseling. I received personalized counseling for the college curriculum and the associate solved various doubts regarding the university. Apart from BHU, I applied to NMIMS and Poddar college of economics but somehow couldn't secure an admission. BHU seemed to be a fair substitute anyhow.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Since it was a Bcom Hons course, it was slightly detailed than a regular b.com course. We were taught audits, taxation, and accounting both in practice and in journals. I specialized in Accounting and Finance and hence, I had received my curriculum accordingly which comprised of Equity derivatives, Micro and Macro Economics, and Cost accounting. The faculty was well experienced with mostly everyone designated with a Ph.D. The faculty-student ratio was 15:1.

Internships Opportunities

3

Internships aren't provided for the commerce department at BHU. However, I managed to secure 3 internships applying online in sectors like Mergers and Acquisition and Equity research.

Placement Experience

3.5

BHU doesn't have the campus placements for the bcom courses. Percentage of Graduates securing a placement here is very low. However, the reputation at this university makes it easier for the students to go for higher studies like masters in finance or business management.

Campus Life

3

The campus life of undergraduates is excellent here. It provides networking opportunities with students of different commerce colleges through inter collegiate events and other contests. Apart from this, the social and cultural fests here are booming too. We had a well equipped library fully furnished with books of all genres. The students of this college participated in various Model United Competitions and excelled at it too.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

The campus hostel of BHU has an average infrastructure but is clean and ventilated. The food at the mess is warm and well cooked. One has to register their rooms via online forms and then it is allocated. It is affordable and secured

Interview Experience

3

After the admission process, there wasn't an interview, but a counselling session by the associate of the university. This counselling session included introduction to various events, course curriculum and doubt solving.

The core circular is moderately relevant but lens more forward theory than the practical application code, subject cover, fundamental concept and providing a base, but there is limited focus on industrial skill project work, coding or case studies which affect real world redness. Elective options are few restricting subject choice. The labour is mostly fake and really updated making it less aligned with the current industry. Trends exams are conducted twice a year medicine and M with internal contributing about 30% of the mark the frequency naval but timing of clashes with the critical session level is moderate theory tends to focus on road learning rather than the critical thinking. Overall the circular needs to more practical exposure, updated content and flexibility to prepare student for employment or higher studies.

The highest package of the college is 4 lakh per annum. The average package of the college is nearly about 2.5 Lakh per annum. The lowest package of the college is 1.8 lakh per annnum. Nearly about 50% of the students got placement from the college. After getting the degree, my plan is to pursue the higher studies and do government exams preparation.
