ASANSOL POLYTECHNIC A place to build your Technical Career

There is an entrance exam "JEXPO" .A student have to give that to be eligible for a government college. The application fees is Rs 500 .In Asansol Polytechnic a general category candidate have to acquire rank under 4000 to get admission. There is also reservation benefits for SC ,ST and OBC candidates in case of rank cutoffs. As It Is a Govt. College the admission fees and the entire course fee is very less.The admission fees is near about 1300. And a student have to give yearly admission fees of 1100 and registration fees of Rs 200 per year once.

There is a lot of opportunities in the technical field after completing this course that is a diploma in Mechanical Engineering that's why I chose this course. Asansol Polytechnic is one of the oldest reputed colleges in Paschim Bardhaman dist. The faculties are very good in behavior and in terms of supporting a student and also well qualified. Some of the faculties have PhD. some of the faculties are pass out from reputed Universities like IIT Kharagpur, Jadavpur University, etc. Besides teaching, they personally provide campusing and placement support. I personally know some faculties, they teach also with a projector in class and that's a lot for a govt. College. Diploma in Engineering is a three-year Full-time course that includes 6 semesters that are held twice a year. If a Student study consistently and follows the notes and study materials of the faculties then it's a piece of cake to qualify with a good score in the semester exams.

After 5th-semester students become eligible for campus placements. Manu reputed and well-established companies visit our college for placements. This year the companies taking placements are JINDAL STEEL AND POWER LTD.(JSPL), JAIBALJI GROUP, DANA ANAND INDIA LTD. JINDAL STAINLESS (JSL). JAMURIA SUPER SMELTERS, SHYAM SEL. And some companies took apprentice like BAJAJ AUTOMOBILES, TATA METALLIKS, etc. The highest packages offered by the companies are 16k-18k per month and the average salary is 12k-13k. It's a Govt. College so all students don't get placed, to be honest, students have to score above 75% in every semester exams and also have to score well in the placement assessments. However, more than 70-75% of students get placed every year.

As I have said before Asansol Poly is a government college, the course fee is very much low. The entire course fee of a three-year full-time diploma in engineering is near about 4500. There are also many Scholarships for enrolled students like SVMCM that is for all categories of students. Scholarship for minorities are also there. And there are also scholarships for SC and ST category students.

In Asansol Polytechnic a fest happens after every two years. All the senior Passout students come to join the fest. And freshers program is organized in our college every year to invite the newcomer students. There is a big library in our college campus where students can take any course-related book for their semester exams. There is a huge field on our campus where many sports are organized by our college faculties after every 2 years.
