Established in the year 2013, the Bengal College of Polytechnic is situated in the industrial city of Durgapur, approximately at a distance of 173kms from the state capital Kolkata. The campus is well connected by local transport and at a distance of 5kms from Durgapur Railway station. The College is approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and affiliated to WBSCTE (West Bengal State Council of Technical Education). The campus is surrounded by lush and natural greenery and the environment is lush and green.
The college offers a Diploma degree for 5 different streams. The admission for different streams is carried through JEXPO for 1st years students and VOCLET for those who apply for Lateral Entry.

BCP Durgapur Admissions 2020
Admissions to this college are totally online and for admission in both 1st and 2nd year, the student must be a valid citizen of India.
For 1st Year
- The students must have passed in a secondary or equivalent examination with 35% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in subjects of Physical science/science and maths in combination.
- Students who have qualified the JEXPO examination in the year 2020 with 35% marks aggregate are also eligible.
For Lateral Entry (2nd year)
- The student must have a valid rank in the VOCLET-2020.

The college provides a variety of facilities so as to keep the minds of the students relaxed both mentally and physically.
- Laboratories: The college boasts its highly equipped laboratories for different departments which include- Electrical Workshop, Transmission, And Distributor Of Power Lab, Switchgear & Protection Lab, Manufacturing Technology Lab, C-Programming Lab., Highway & Transportation Engineering Lab, Surveying Lab, Microprocessor-I Lab, Basic Electronics Lab, Instrumentation & Control Lab, Strength of Materials Lab, Transmission And Distribution Of Power Lab, Electrical Design, Estimation & Costing, Metrology, Surveying Lab, Geotechnical Engineering Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab, etc. The 1st year laboratories include the Engineering Drawing, Chemistry Lab, Computer Fundamental Lab, Language Lab, Physics Lab, Workshop.
- Hostel facilities: Hostel facilities are available for both 1 year and all 3 years. Both girl’s hostels and boys’ hostels are present. The rooms are two-seater with a common bathroom.
The other facilities include seminar halls, Library well-equipped with books and a reading capacity of 130, Cafeteria and CCTV Cameras. Uniforms are also provided from the college which includes a pair of summer dresses, a blazer for winter, and a pair of ties.
