Remarks

Management is very helpful when it comes to guiding students through tedious procedures of paperwork.

Entrance Preview

GATE, Score-474. I chose this college due to the unfathomable potential it houses, in terms of experienced faculty members as well as infrastructure facilities.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course I am presently enrolled is quite an old one in the college, it's been more than 28 years this course has been started in this college. We have a mix of some really experienced well renowned faculty members, along with some fresh young minds as supporting staff members. The curriculum is really fun and interesting. Even the campus is very vibrant and every month or the other there will be some sort of new activity going on creating a feel of order in chaos. These occasional buzzes animates the campus and drives the lives of students as well as visitors.

Internships Opportunities

As a part of the curriculum, few of us have to undertake an internship and based on the program of the course, it depends how long the internship will last, how far away it can be and what would be the stipend. For a B.Arch student the internship during our time (2007-12) was only 6 months but now it has increased to one year. In my present course we only have one month of internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

Awesome! Since we have tie up with many multinational companies, their first priority is always from our college. Also because we have a lot of untamed student potentials who exhibit their works by using tech fests as a platforms. The facilities in the college reinforces their research and strengthens their intellectual growth. For those students who are too brilliant to be placed, college also offers start-up incubation services to promote budding entrepreneurs.

College Events

3

We host the largest of cultural extravaganzas and huge city (sometimes state) level festivals. Some events like Dhwani, CETex, Sargam, Sophomore's day, Yamistha etc are like branded benchmarks and are heavily followed by the NEWS and media. People not only from the nearby cities, even people from halfway across the country come to be a part of it.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible, since it is a Govt. college the expenses on the tuition etc is compensated by student's investment on books and stationary. There are also a lot of scholarship programs like the AICTE scholarship and e-grants which help the students from economically backward classes to run parallel to others.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are quite a lot of scholarships schemes available in our college,I myself am supposed to receive GATE scholarship which is approx. 12000 per month. It is probably due to demonitization that we haven't received our scholarship yet.

Campus Life

3.5

to write on Gender ratios, i think males outnumber females by far. Student/Dorm Parties are mostly secretly held outside campus and are usually only limited to a small group of (generally) males. Workshops and cultural societies run on a regular basis. Student diversity and tolerance with regards to gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation, politics and economic status are pretty liberal in our campus.

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostels are good, clean and spacious enough for the number of students allotted. The only problem is the curfew in hostels that at times causes inconvenience for students who go or come back from their home towns. However the rent is nominal, the food is edible (unlike most other hostels) and environment is good with all the necessary facilities. It also has 24x7 working security for any critical condition that may arise.

Alumni/Alumna

We have a very strong connection with our alumni and more so because we all share a sense of pride to relate ourselves to the common ground from where we grew. Even today the pass outs of early batches would come with their children to take a casual walk in the campus and communicate with the students and share their experiences.

Exam Structure

Standard KTU structure involves a lot many layers of security checks before a student enters the exam hall. On the day of the exam the papers are released from the university and mailed to the college which is then printed and distributed to students. The question papers are different in structure in case of different subject but the general overview is that it has 60% weight-age whereas the rest 40% is internal which in fact is divided almost equally upon attendance, internal test marks and assignments.

Admission

Firstly I applied in DTE from where my application got selected in CET and then I came to CET and followed the admission procedure. The allotment process was carried out before we reach the college via an online portal. On the day of admission we had to come and submit all our original documents and pay the fees. And the very next day onward we were allowed to attend an orientation after which we joined our respective classes on a regular basis.

Faculty

3.5

Experienced and understanding! Most of the faculties are actually well known for their contribution to their respective fields as well as to society. Almost all our faculty members are either directly or indirectly involved in some kind of active project be it research or industry.

Remarks:

positive is that I have the brand of being a CETian and getting to be in par with the alumnus of this institution, but other than that nothing else. There is a need of putting in more effort to ensure students reach the heights they deserve. There is no information about career or education opportunities where the students can diversify into
