Entrance Preview

The Entrance examination which I took for getting into the Mpstme, Nmims was NMAT (Narsee Monjee Aptitude Test) which is conducted by the Nmims University and I scored 70 marks out of 200. The test also has negative markings which is awarded for every wrong answer. My rank was around 2100 for which I was getting Btech in Mumbai Campus and Btech/Mbatech in the Shirpur off campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is very well established in the whole of university. It is also very well followed by the faculty members too. The course details and the structure are shared with the students and faculty members prior to the commencement of the course so as to one can get accustomed to what the course will be offering to the students.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the structure of the course is such that one has to mandatory do 2 Internship for a 5-year Mba tech program. One is the technical internship called Technical Internship Program (TIP) which is to be done at the end of the 3rd year. One can get the internship through one's own contacts or if one does not have contacts or wishes to go with Internship provided by the college.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements of the college is quite good and almost every student gets placed in some of the other Mnc's ach year. The average package is around 7-8 lacs abd the highest goes to 13-14 lacs. The companies which come to the college are also very reputed and wide range such as EY, D&B, HP, Accenture, BOA, RBS bank etc.

College Events

4.5

There are various events and cultural/technical fests conducted by the college throughout the year. The main events are Ambiora which is the technical fest, the freshers party and also all the festivals are celebrated throughout the college. Then come the Protsahan fest which usually is conducted in feb-march in which various social, cultural and technical events are conducted and also the various sports competition are held during that period in which various teams from different streams and different year take part in order to win the ultimate prize.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite expensive from a middle-income family. There are not many additional costs but the overall cost of education and staying in the hostel plus the food accommodation makes it more or less a bit expensive. The figures ranges around 3-4 lacs per annum which covers the academic costs and the hostel costs. But the other costs that are incurred are quite nominal in terms of the other things such as the daily need things covered and other basic necessities required.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides the scholarship to limited number of students based on certain criteria such as the marks scored in the 12th exam and also keeping in mind the financial status of the family one can entail the scholarship by applying for the same and filling the form and meeting the criteria set up by for which the scholarship can be provided from 10 to 30-40%. Also one can avail the loan from any bank.

Exam Structure

The exam structure followed by the university is semester pattern in which 2 term-end exam happens in a year. The lab session and the theoretical sessions are very well balanced and both are conducted day in day out. There is one laboratory session of one subject held every day. It does make sometimes the whole day pretty much hectic and the student stressed out.

Faculty

4

The faculties in the college are very well equipped with knowledgeable and has all the desired skills required for teaching a particular subject. In most cases a single faculty has the expertise in more than one subject teaching a diverse range of subjects during the duration of the course. The faculties are well qualified and justified for the subjects they teach from practcial to theoretical knowledge everything.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Placements are good for a Tier 2 College . The Student Intake is huge so for that 12 LPA is a good average package . If we take the top 10 Percent students it rises above 15 LPA . Quality of Companies and the roles offered are good . Intership opportunities are also good.

Remarks:

Overall, I would say that I think this is a very unique course being offered by SP Jain and they are very strict with the submission timelines and quality of work. This is definitely is not a run off the mill part time MBA. The institute makes sure you sweat to earn your degree, respectfully!
