Remarks
The colleges I applied to were VJTI, S.P.C.E, Terna, Pillai, R.A.I.T. but I found Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Institute of Technology to be the most suitable and convenient option for me. Admission criteria was purely based on CAP Rounds by DTE Maharashtra and a cut off was benchmarked for getting admission here. One more criteria was getting minimum 60% in 12th Aggregate. Once we get the college we have to freeze and then personally visit the college and confirm the admission.
Course Curriculum Overview
So I chose Electrical because i had a passion in how the circuits worked, how the electrons flow and how the motor and generator work. Then about faculty, the teachers and Sirs are highly educated and all have done their degree from good colleges and there are some teachers who have completed their PH.D from IIT Bombay are very well versed with the subjects and their teaching method is very innovative and try to mak every concept easier and interesting for their students. Also every week there is a small exam or assignment of every subject to check our understanding of the subject. Also internal assessments are taken twice during the semester and prelims is carried out for our practise at the end of the semester. Some exams are difficult to pass and you hav to do timely study and if you fail to pass the exam you have to sit for re exams.
Internships Opportunities
College provides paid internships at various organizations including IIT Bombay. Also, it provides various paid courses to increase our skills. But no internship provides a stipend and also they are paid from Rs1000 and more
Placement Experience
So officially placements start to come in college from the 7th Semester and students are eligible according to the criteria decided by the company. Some of the companies visited to the college were Accenture, Cognizant, Jio, Godrej, BMCD, LnT, Hexaware, Carwale, ZS Associates, Selec and many more. Highest package for our year was ZS Associates offered 12.8 lpa for the Sales profile and average package is 3.5 lpa depending upon the companies and offers. This year a large number of students got placed almost 75% students got selected and were placed. Even I am placed at one company and I am thinking of going fo higher studies after getting one year experience.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees is basically 1,50,000 Rs for the first year and 1,36,000Rs for the next 3 years for the general case and for OBC it's directly half that is RS 60,000-70,000 and if you are not economically stable you have a option to pay fees in installments. Also for some needy students Scholarship of 50% is given by the government.
Campus Life
Life at campus is pretty simple and lively. We have garden, library, xerox centre and many other facilities. Library is full of books, materials, magazines, research papers, guides, etc. Classrooms are spacious, fresh air and sunlight is available in plenty. Two annual fests are organised every year one in September and next in February, in September we have fun fest and in February we have technical fest named Etamax where enumerous events are carried out. Also many sports events are organised and various extra curricular activities for students to enroll in. Also we have other social groups such as NSS which does good work such as planting trees, donating food to needy people, etc.
