Entrance Preview

I was selected in this college on my merit list. I filled the form of Delhi University and my percentage of 12th standard matched with the cut off of this college and the college is also near to my residence so I took my admission in Vivekanada College. I choose B.com over other courses because I always wanted to work in the finance sector that's why I opted for commerce back then.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The Course Curriculum of Bachelors in Commerce of Delhi University is really good. I am in my third year last semester and I felt that I have been able to touch all the aspects of commerce by far and now can make a decision of what I have to pursue or can work in which field. The Course structure is really easy we have to present different presentations of different subjects which require a lot of research work and helps in growing our knowledge about the subject.

Internships Opportunities

Yes we have our placement cell of our College. Different companies come and offer internships as well as placements to the students. The general stipend for the internship ranges from Rs 1000 to Rs 5000. The overall experience of my internship drive was very good. Appropriate system was followed with no mismanagement.

Placement Experience

4

The placements and job opportunities are also good. Few Companies have started coming in our college from this semester. Companies like Amazon have come with a pay package of 5.06 LPA, the result of students selected is still awaited. Another one was Teacher Sity. Next Company was head start education and offered pay package of Rs 45000.

College Events

4.5

Various events are organised in our college throughout the year. We have 15 societies in in the cultural department and they individually conduct their events time to time say debating, dancing, singing etc. We have different departments of our college say commerce department conducts many events like business plan, quiz for commerce students. These events are sometimes inter college and sometimes intra college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

In my opinion as a part of government university the fee structure is nominal. Their are not much charges of different facilities which we avail in our college like library, gardening, courts, halls etc. My overall fees of one year is just Rs 11000, in my opinion its not at all expensive as compared to the other universities.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the university offers various types of scholarships to the students like fee concessions and grant aid funds for st/sc and other backward classes. They offer various kinds of monetary help to those students who are meritorious and belong to a less income group. Till now I have not availed any scholarship.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

We don't have a hostel in our campus. We only have faculty quarters. Students who live outside the city has to take a PG or hostel near the college premises and the rent ranges from Rs 5000 to Rs 10000. The rooms are shared by 2 persons in one room and 3 time meal is served which is included in the rent.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is as follows, it is a 3 year course and in each year we have 2 semesters that means overall we have 6 semesters. In each semester we have 4 to 5 papers and most of the time all the papers are compulsory. The exam patter is as follows we have our exam of 75 marks with 5 questions of 15 marks each. Rest 25 marks are for assignment, class test and attendance.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty members of my college are really very nice. I never thought that I would get such nice teachers in my college. There is no single chance they miss to help us. They are always forward to lend their books, solve our doubts, and help in our curriculum. The teachers are friendly and we are able to maintain a good rapport with them even apart from curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculam is well-structured and covers all the core subject relevant to the field . It help in building strong theroritcial knowledge but lacks enough real-world case studies and industry exposure . Exam are conducted regularly and are of moderate difficulty . Adding more project-based or skill oriented components would make the course more practical and beneficial for placements or higher studies .

When students enter 3rd year of their college , they are eligible to sit for placements but should have minimum 8 CGPA .A lot of companiess visit campus , details of companies are on the website of college. The highest placement till now is 20 Lakhs per Annum and average goes around 6-7 Lakhs per Annum. A decent percentage of students get placed. Honestly most students here are pursuing professional courses so they don't sit for placements instead continue with their courses .
