Remarks

To get admission at BIT Mesra, BE program. You need to apply through JEE Mains counselling. JEE Mains examination is mandatory for appearing in the counselling. I did not apply through any quota. I had applied for all the colleges that accepted admissions based on JEE mains score. So, the counselling happened in phases, I got my college in round 3.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course has been recently revised and new labs and technologies have been incorporated. The labs have machines that involve a lot of learning. The exams happened semester-wise with mid-term exams as well. The classes were digital and teachers use new methodologies to preach the content.

Class Size: 50Course Fees: INR 260000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are not enough internship opportunities available in the mechanical branch. However, in Computer science, we have a lot of internship opportunities. However, there are various college project options available in our college under professors.

Placement Experience

The placements are decent compared to tier 2 colleges of our country. The average package of our civil batch was 6 Lakhs. Out of 100 students, 70 sat for placements and all were placed. I have a plan to continue with my job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are high compared to other NIT's. It is almost twice as many other NIT's. No financial assistance was received from the college. I got a job in Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. with a CTC of 8 Lakhs. The fees are high compared to other NIT's. It is almost twice as many other NIT's.

Campus Life

There are around 18 clubs and teams in BIT Mesra. There is a specific budget allocated for each club and activity. I was part of EDC, Robotics Club and DRISTI NGO. Some of the famous teams are Team Srijan, Firebolt, Aveon, Pratyunmis, and many more

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

At BIT Mesra for our departments many cpre companies like Tatva Chintan, Laxmi Organics and Kanoria Chemicals were among some listed companies that came for placements. I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Actually This college was in my list but as a last option as i was getting RVCE and BMS few reputed colleges of bangalore but my parents insisted for this college as this college carries a good brand name of BIT,Mesra. Yes, Due to my not so good performance in JEE Mains I did not get the college i was hoping for. A student should first appear in JEE Mains and score a good percentile to get in to this college.
