A pandemic experience of a scholar

It is a top most and oldest central university of India. It has achieved ranking of 3 back to back in last 5 years. This university has a good infrastructure and high level of competition to prove yourself.

Course curriculum is similar for all the PhD scholars in all the central universities as provided by UGC. Academics of faculty is quite appreciable as they have a good amount of experience and good level of academics.

No internship facilities are provided by the Banaras Hindu University. So very few opportunities might have provided here. A person cannot fully develop their skills here. Only academics and curriculum are the ultimate goal of the facilities.

For PhD scholars there are no placement facilities because we have to give State level central level exams to get employment. But with my closest experience I have seen students of masters getting placed but due to pandemic there were not placed properly.

Yearly I have to pay approximately 3500 and as I am JRF qualified so after getting enrolled in PhD I am receiving a scholarship from UGC. I am residing in hostel so I have to pay an additional amount of 3500 which is yearly.

Infrastructure I will say is not appreciable in my faculty. Being a woman I have faced problems of poor washroom which no one notices. Central University receives great amount of funding I don't know where does it goes. My faculty is poorly maintained but other departments in the university are well maintained. Life at campus is very cool and safe. You can roam at any time with the feeling of security.

Yes I have opted for hostel. Hostels are like 90s hostels no maintenance has been done. It's like after madan Mohan Malviya ji nobody has ever entered to maintain the hostel rooms and washrooms. Paints are not done on walls but there are Chunas on them. According to UGC, single rooms should be allocated to JRF scholars but here they are not providing us single rooms.

Yes after the entrance there was an interview which I have faced and after the interview my interview marks, academics marks and entrance marks were combined and ranks were allotted and I was selected. Interview was quite interesting as majorly questions were asked from the research section .
