VIT Vellore, A complete review

Research Opportunities has really been good. VIT publishes over 3000 research and review papers every year. Students get ample opportunities to research under foreign researches and university pays for all publishing cost and patent. University sets up labs with many international University and fund a lot for learning. Clubs and Chapters- There are hundreds of clubs and chapters in the Vellore campus itself and university spends over 200 crores INR on development of skills. Placement opportunities- Placements are very good here, with highest package of 75L and over 1000 super dream offers in the campus. Riveria - one of the biggest college fest in india.

Curriculum is updated and reviewed by students. It's really good and labs and projects are focus point for University. There are more subjects with Project component and they are necessary to complete with minimum 50% marks to pass the whole subject. Faculty: student ratio in individual subject is maximum 1:65. Almost all professors are PhD from IIT. Exams are not very difficult to pass if you are attentive and take notes. There is also one open book component in the assessment out of 3 total assesment.

I opted for Microsoft Internship opportunity in 5th semester. I worked as Associate Consultant in Azure Cloud and Artificial Intelligence domain. I got stipend as well, can't disclose because of organization policy. I worked on Web development project and Natural Language Processing Project.

There are huge amount of placement opportunities. Students can sit for internship opportunities in 5th semester and can sit for placement at 7th semester. There are various companies paying over 10L called super dream companies. Some of them are microsoft, dyte, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, PayPal, D.E. Shaw etc. Even big 4 comes. All companies are coming for various profiles - Consultant, Software Engineer, Operation Management etc.

Fee Structure depends on category. There are 5 category for each branch. You get to select category based on your rank in VITEEE. The bigger your rank, the higher the category, the more you pay. Placement for CS, IT, EEE,ECE with all specialisation are extraordinary. Almost 60-70% students going with more than 10L in these branches. There is star student scholarship which offers free education to state board toppers in TN. There is also scholarship for international students from Africa, Nepal etc.

Life at campus is really good. We have 2 fests in campus, first is gravitas which takes place in fall semester and second is Riveria which takes place in winter semester.( FEBRUARY). University has many megastars coming to campus and interacting and performing for students. Books and journals are easily available on library and online library provided by the University. There is an individual Library building and almost all books are available there. Classrooms are smart class and they have a good infrastructure. There are all kinds of sports activities available, even gyms and swimming pools and numerous grounds are available. There is also a stadium inside the campus. There are hundreds of clubs and chapters and there are numerous events taking place every day.

Hostel facilities are extremely good. There are over 23 boys hostels and many girls hostel. Infrastructure is new and cleaned. We get to choose our own room and roomates based on our university rank, every year. We have 3 types of mess- Veg Mess, Non Veg mess and special mess. We can choose for different vendors for these messes. Food quality is really good and food is reviewed and any complaints are entertained.

We faced a written exam - VITEEE. It's an exam which has physics, chemistry and mathematics as it's component. It also has English as a subject to evaluate candidates final rank.
