Entrance Preview
I had appeared for the MHTCET in 2004, which was the first year of its inception. I scored 278/300. SIES GST is a college with good repute in the technical world and therefore,I opted for the same.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course was elaborative but some subjects were related to outdated technologies and need not be included in such great detail. An overview of them should ideally suffice.
Internships Opportunities
My team did internship at a startup firm in vashi,where we got lot of exposure and the opportunity to explore various avenues in net world. There was no stipend paid though.
Placement Experience
I was one of the lucky few who got placed on day zero of placements in my college for my batch. Overall placement coverage is very good,with an average of 80% students getting placed every year.
College Events
Techical fest tatva,Cultural fest ekatvam Fests held once an year n participation is from all colleges in the Mumbai University. It is a 5 day affair and the preparation starts 2 months in advance.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure then was around 40k INR per year. It was decent enough for an technical course considering the infrastructure at offer and the size of the campus and also the various co-curricular facilities it offered.
Fees and Financial Aid
No loan schemes or scholarship offered at this college as a good part of the academic fees is donated to an old age home.
Campus Life
Campus life was excellent. One of the best parts was being a part of IEEE fests each year. The regular or yearly college fests were also very enthralling. The ratio of male to female students was approx 60:40,which was decent enough.
Hostel Facilities
No hostel facility available. There is an old age home and also an cultural training home for young children. Hostel facility is being planned though with possible inception in 2017.
Alumni/Alumna
Excellent alumni network through social media groups and a college sponsored get together once every 2 years. Facebook and linkedin are the common forums. Alumni network also helps in campus placements.
Exam Structure
One prelim exam per semester followed by main university level semester exam both include practical theory.
Faculty
Faculty was good and experienced. The college facilities wrt labs was also top notch. Quality can surely be enhanced by recruiting non vernacular language proffersors.
