Remarks
Hi, I am writing this by keeping in mind the safe future of my juniors and myself being a student of Halia Institute of Technology so I think I can answer this very well. So those who want to get admission to the Haldia Institute of Technology need to follow the following below-written steps. Admission process: Step 1: Must belong to the Science stream in higher secondary education i.e, class-12 Step 3: Must have appeared for WBJEE ( West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam ) or JEE Mains. Step 3: It is mandatory to qualify their minimum cut-off of WBJEE which can be achieved very easily no need to worry much about that. Step 4: After that, once you get your rank card you have to apply for counseling through wbjee official portal. Step 5: If your rank lies below 50,000 then you must choose Electronics & Comm. Engg it might possible that you can get it. Step 6: If in the worst case if you haven't got ECE then you should wait for the mock round which takes place once the normal counseling gets over.
Course Curriculum Overview
In case if you didn't secure good marks in JEE but then also you want to take admission in west Bengal private colleges then I suggest B.tech from Haldia Institute is a nice option. Starting from faculties qualification and their teaching strategy I would say that is moderate neither bad nor much excellent but if you want to get theoretical knowledge and that you expect from faculties I would suggest don't go for B.Tech rather then you can try for B.Sc, But if you want to opt B.tech then you must be much curious about gaining practical knowledge which I think an average student can get here easily if he/she has willing to gain something. The most amazing thing about HIT is that you can get most of your required knowledge from your seniors as this college provides a lot of interactions with seniors to their juniors. Talking about Assessments and exams since this college is an autonomous college so you do not need to worry about qualifying for these exams.
Internships Opportunities
If especially taking for internship then I would say few or rare companies visit in HIT campus but If you have potential then you can go for an online internship that may pay you as well. Also if you have some craze to learn then here system will provide you good projects to work under the best faculties and seniors.
Placement Experience
Honestly speaking I am a final year student of ECE I got placed in 3+ companies. But one truth is there as well that here placements for core branches are not good even negligible I would say. so if would suggest that if you want admission in CSE, IT or ECE then only you can trust on this college. Otherwise taking admission other than these branches can cost you in the future as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
If someone somehow didn't get the opportunity to get into govt colleges then for devoting himself/herself towards private college the major challenge arises is of fee of colleges. Some believe that a good private college requires a huge fee as but I can prove then them false. One can check the new ranking system of good private colleges in West Bengal. You will definitely go to find HIT over there. Coming to a fee of HIT on average an individual needs to pay 3.75 lakh to 4 lakh for the entire 4-year B.tech course. In case if you got low branch as per your rank in WBJEE or JEE then still also you will be given here the opportunity to take yourself into good branches like- CSE, IT or ECE and for that, you have to prove your potential and that you can show by bringing 8.5 S.G.P.A or more in your 1st sem and 2 sem. And Also if you will be highest marks getter from your branch or in college then you don't need to pay your First-year fee as well.
Campus Life
One can find the fabulous infrastructure of HIT as compared to all other colleges inside West Bengal. It has one huge Library which provides free wifi connectivity as well. Also, classrooms are well infrastructured though there is no AC available but. PRAYUKTI is a famous fest of HIT which took every year where almost every student gets the opportunity to be part of.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is up to mark I would say as it does not provide that many services as we expect from it. There will be one room comprised of four members with one common bathroom attached as well. But the hostel food they provide is quite affordable as well tasty also. And if in case if someone doesn't find a hostel good then they can go for an alternate option as well i.e, P.G which is quite affordable even you will be getting P.G less costly than your hostel as well. P.G might range from Rs 1200 to Rs 2500 per month.
